This was a gem, large well appointed rooms set in lovely gardens and close to the Addo Game Reserve, the breakfast area outside was lovely, for dinner ate in a separate restaurant onsite, also in a lovely setting and the food was good though the wine choice: 1 white, 1 red and 1 rose was a little limited but we would come back.

Um den Addo Elefantpark zu besuchen ist es ein wunderbares Hideaway, das zu empfehlen ist. Die Zimmer sind geräumig, etwas altmodisch, passt jedoch zum Stil des Guesthouses. Leider gab es nicht täglich neue Handtücher, aber wir haben auch nicht nachgefragt. Die Eatery ist ein sehr hübscher Platz zum Dinner und für das Frühstück. Wenn man es früh aber eilig hat wird es schwierig, da das Servieren der Eierspeisen gefühlt ewig gedauert hat. Ganz wunderbar ist der weitläufige Garten, der dazu einlädt, die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Insgesamt ein sehr schöner Ort, an dem wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt haben. We felt the on site restaurant could have offered more selection especially on starters one of which stayed the same for 3 nights and the other was a soup which did change but it wasn't exactly exciting. There are not many other restaurant choices in the area.

The accommodation itself is good, the large garden is well maintained, the dinner and breakfast were good, the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, our room smelled very musty, brown water initially ran out of the tap, which didn't make a good impression.

Begrüssung war ok, aber nicht mehr. Keine Tips oder wie die Fahrt war. Bei Verabschiedung das selbe, nicht gefragt, ob alles ok war oder so. Im Restaurant, war das Essen gut, aber der Service total überfordert. Frühstück war nicht bereit, obwohl es ab 7.30 Frühstück geben sollte. Garten war sehr schön. Nächstes Mal würden wir wo anders schlafen.

A little bit of heaven.

We stayed at Gerald's Gift mainly to visit the Addo Elphant Park thought there were other activities near by if you wanted them. However. Gerald's Gift itself was a little bit of Heaven. A beautiful house set in fabulous gardens way off the road behind automatic gates in developing fruit orchards. The rooms were beautiful each like little cottages in the garden. Our hosts Sue and Roger we most friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. We ate 2 night running at Africanus, an hotel just a little way down the road. We loved Gerald's Gift and would thoroughly recommend it if you are visiting the area

Warm welcome by the owner and all details of room and facilities given. Very neat, well furnished room with beautiful ensuite. Private and secure. Really enjoyed our overnight stay and will definitely go back.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Gerald's and really liked the surrounding gardens and its tranquility. Lovely and clean room and hard to imagine it once had a different purpose (the cottage front door is revealing), quite, personal parking space and just 10 minutes to Addo Elephant park. Great breakfast too and a citrus plantation to get lost in. You will definitely see all the game through very clean windows but you we suggest you experience it yourself. Recommended for sure.

Wonderful stay.

Amazing place to stay when visiting Addo Elephant Park. Very near to main gate. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and the accommodation was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good and lots of it. We very much enjoyed our stay and waking up to a clean car having spent travelling around Addos dirt tracks was a welcomed surprise. We also loved the two friendly dogs Joshua and Benson. We very much recommend a stay at this truly delightful guest house

Perfect location if you want the visit Addo National Park. Difficult to fault anything very restful, and the lady in charge was very helpful. Gardens of the property beautiful.

Leuk hotel te midden van een grote citrusplantage. Zeer mooe tuin! Lekker restaurant 2 km verderop, aanrader voor sushi-liefhebbers. Elephantpark ligt op 10 km, voor de rest is hier weinig te doen.

One Night Stay

Arrived here after a 250km drive and found the place very easily. We had a warm welcome from Sue and check in was quick and efficient. Sue showed us round the garden, breakfast area, guest lounge and then to our room. She also checked up on two restaurants for us because we wanted to eat early which was very helpful. The room was large with plenty of space for our luggage. The bed was a Queen (width of two singles) and very comfortable with soft linens. The shower and sink area were behind the bedroom area and separated by a low wall but the toilet was off to the side behind a door. The shower was spacious with very good flow and plenty of hot water. Towels were large and soft. Nice smelling toiletries. The room had a tea/coffee station, air conditioning and good WiFi. Everywhere was clean. We ate early at a restaurant and returned to enjoy complementary sherry, swimming pool and beautiful garden. Breakfast was taken outside with continental selection and hot food cooked to order which was delicious. Geralds Gift is a beautiful place with warm and friendly hosts and our only regret is not staying for longer. Will return.
