The daily breakfast offerings were always different, which provided great variety and gave you a true taste of Ghana. That was a highlight of my stay. The staff overall were wonderful, friendly, and welcoming, and I would definitely return. The pool area itself was nice and relaxing; however, there was a noticeable smell of garbage coming from a nearby field filled with trash that was visible from the area. It would greatly improve the guest experience if the hotel added some attractive décor to block that view and make the space more appealing. That said, there are a few other areas I believe could be improved. First, the restaurant charges for bottled water, even though it is complimentary in the rooms, which felt inconsistent. Also, during breakfast, if you request a juice outside of what is offered that day—especially due to allergies—you are charged extra, which seems unreasonable. Lastly, I had an issue at checkout. I paid my bill in full, but while I was at the airport about to board my flight, I received a message stating that I had been undercharged and still owed money. I was sent an invoice to pay immediately. While I did pay the amount they claimed I owed, it was frustrating and confusing that this was not identified at checkout. It also felt a bit insulting, as I take pride in paying my bills honestly and on time. Overall, it was a good experience, but better communication, improved surroundings, and more accurate billing processes would make a difference.

Overall, it’s a great option for business travellers rather than perhaps tourists with children. The location is ideal and makes it very easy to get around the city, especially the tourist attractions. The standout feature for us was the breakfast. There was a huge variety of options, including delicious traditional Ghanaian dishes such as jollof rice and fish stew, alongside all the classic breakfast items. The room décor was modern, and the shower was excellent with strong water pressure. The staff were consistently lovely, polite, helpful and quick to respond to requests. When a chair in the courtyard unexpectedly collapsed as I sat on it, they assisted me immediately, apologised sincerely and offered drinks to make up for the incident. They also provided an iron we requested arrived promptly. However, there were a few maintenance issues that affected the overall experience. The double room was quite small and some fixtures and fittings felt worn for a four‑star hotel. Several electric sockets didn’t work, and although the room had USB‑A charging ports, they weren’t all functional and there were no USB‑C options. The fridge acted more like a basic larder, as the freezer compartment didn’t work. Our courtyard‑facing room didn’t get much natural light, so in Accra’s humidity, things didn’t dry easily. The safe in our room was also not working and despite reporting it, it wasn’t repaired during our stay. Overall, I would still rate the Pelican Hotel as a good place to stay,

I had the most wonderful extended stay at The Pelican in Accra and would not hesitate to recommend it. From the moment I landed from a long overseas flight I was warmly greeted assisted by the distinguished airport shuttle chauffeur and had the privilege of being couried to the hotel by airconditioned luxury vehicle. I knew from that moment that I should be prepared for exceptional customer service and amenities. The Pelican reception staff and staff throughout the hotel attended to my every need with a warmth,respect professionalism, efficiency and grace. The room/apt with a spacious private balcony. was beautifully appointed and immaculate in terms of cleanliness, being cleaned daily and as required. The delicous array of meals including traditional Ghanian dishes on offer at the Beak and the outdoor Atrium meant that I didn't wish to venture out, The quality of the food and service was excptional and available 24/7 with room service. I utlised the state of the art (very cool) gym and pool which offered privacy and a serene space. As someone from Australia who has travelled the world and stayed at fabulous hotels I can say that the Pelican was exceptional and met every expectation. It is a hotel that has business clientele and holiday makers which makes for a great ambience. Ensure your rorom suits your needs in terms of the view and noise as Accra is a busy city. Thank you to all the staff who made my stay so memorable!

My stay at the pelican hotel was nothing short of amazing. The staff was extremely hospitable and supportive throughout the entirety of my wife and I’s stay. We were visiting Ghana for a wedding and due to some wedding programming had to switch rooms on two occasions; the staff was extremely helpful in getting us relocated to our new rooms and ensuring that the room was up to par on a daily basis. Even the small details such as getting a small pouch of sweet and savoury plantain chips really made us happy to come back to the hotel each day. Also the food at the hotel restaurant was very good. We really enjoyed the whole grilled fish with yam chips. The entire team was great, but some of the folks that stood out for us were Michael and Vincent at the front desk and Shadrack, the security manager, who really took care of us and even helped arrange some sightseeing. Highly recommend!

This being my third visit to Pelican, several of the staff I met earlier greeted me and it was almost like extended family. The physical layout was nice before and even better now. Our suite was very comfortable and spacious; it had a great kitchen and separate place to work at a desk. The quiet rooms and serene atrium are a peaceful contrast to the noise that fills much of the city and beyond. Service was great--the only improvement area is the front desk needs to have change available for people paying in cash (plus to provide for tips, etc.).
