Hillary at the front desk was wonderful. She was accommodating, professional, and welcoming. Phyllis and the woman who managed the omelette station were among my favorite staff. They operated from a space of care and every day upon my return it was clear that I was being “seen.”
Apart from those few, I realized quickly that this hotel caters to professional clients. All other staff operated almost like robots, as did the hotel dwellers here for business. Had I known in advance, I would have chosen a resort for my holiday. I often felt like asking questions or for support - like when my room was so humid you could see the outline of footprints in moisture on the floor - that I was a hindrance. That situation was never resolved. Someone from the hotel came, felt and saw the evidence of the humidity and sent a tech up. Thank you. The tech guy said it was the thermostat. I tried to explain that as soon as he changed it, an hour later it would revert back but he didn’t listen. So I slept one more night in a humid room because I was too exhausted to call down again.
Ghana was amazing and this hotel is definitely right for people in town for business. I do not recommend it for people in town for holiday.
