GREAT addition to Downtown Abilene! THIS is the DoubleTree quality I remember. Our last stay at a DoubleTree we stayed at (Santa Fe) was not up to the DT standards that I have enjoyed before. Which this would have been here when my daughter was playing at ACU!

Overall wasn't a bad experience however three things. Firstly there was no blatant warning or statement saying you had to be 21 to check in I have stayed in many hotels since 18 no issue and this was the first I had to be 21 so I had to grab my 21 year old brother who is one year older than me to check me in. Second off it may have just been the room I was in but the room was constantly popping and banging I guess you could say like the foundation was consistently settling and it was always coming from the bathroom I thought it was my neighbors but it just kept happening all night and day nonstop. Third off the on location smokehouse was way overpriced and the food was genuinely just bad their water tasted like stagnant tap water and my burger I ate tasted like rotten meat and the biscuits and gravy my girlfriend ordered was flat out unnecessarily greasy I am all for greasy food time to time but it was just matted with grease. Overall not half bad but just some minor things just expected better for how expensive it was.
