"on this trip we travelled with teens. teens can be loud... but even though they were constantly talking and laughing (just being kids) you could not hear anything from outside the room. this is the quietest hotel i have ever been to. "My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and loved it. Everything about this hotel is so charming. The lobby, the courtyard, the rooms- all embodied that quaint bed & breakfast vibe that Carmel by the Sea is known for. From the moment we checked in (thank you, Alex, for the great service and complimentary welcome Rosè!), to the moment we checked out and everything in between, the service was warm, friendly, and professional. "Had a lovely stay at Bernardus once again! Nice, cozy and accommodating rooms made a nice relaxing stay. We went to the spa one day and all the services were lovely. We also ate at the restaurant and bar and had some great meals. Overall, staff was friendly and we enjoyed our visit. Only small nit would be that during our stay there seemed to be quite a bit of younger children (4-6 year olds) and they were running around quite a bit during the morning & day. It didn't bother us but I did notice...

"Overall somewhat disappointed in the property. Location was good for the monterey Bay Aquarium which was the primary purpose of our trip but other then that not very walkable to restaurants, tide pooling options or the wharf . Staff was not particularly friendly when we had questions and the check in process was rather awkward. You have to ring a doorbell and wait for someone to answer and let you in. Parking was great once you figured out where it was located on Ocean View below the property)....
