Gilgo-Oak Beach-Captree 4 Stars Hotels

"I was in town for a wedding nearby and booked this hotel because it advertised free local shuttle. I called ahead to ask for a shuttle from the train station and was told it was not available. I also asked for a shuttle to the wedding venue, and was told that there is someone available, but they do provide transport to other venues… which seemed petty and does not affect the other venue, rather it affects the guest who chose to stay at your hotel and now has to arrange and pay for another ride. I witnessed two other guests separately have unpleasant altercations with the front desk staff as well. For such a nice hotel, I would have higher expectations of the staff. Otherwise, the room is nice and spacious. The robe provided in the closet seemed well-worn, which was not very appealing. The bed was comfortable. It was off season, but the pool area seemed nice. "

"The staff was friendly. The spa was quaint and the massage was excellent. The jacuzzi was not functioning and there were no robes in the room. Over all the we had a nice one night stay. They comped a free dunk at the bar. I recommend having other food options or opening the restaurant earlier."
