「This is a beautiful, old hotel, right in downtown Arcata. Location is super convenient and the vibe is cool. The room we stayed in was tiny, with only a double bed, but we knew that going in. The biggest downside was the noise at night. Being in the heart of downtown means you are very close to the bars and noises of a college town. We stayed on a Saturday night and the next morning we asked at the front desk if it was always that noisy. The desk clerk was very polite and helpful and said it is...

「Dirty and some flies in the room, there are hairs left on the bed and pillows, the wallpaper is broken, and homeless stayed at the hotel door who will ask you for money.」

「We stayed here specifically to charge our electric car on a road trip. Two gas cars were parked at the chargers despite a half empty parking lot. So we were not able to charge at all. We told staff but they were not interested. It put us behind and changed our route. Additionally we had noise from above running and jumping and thudding until after midnight. The gym was nice and breakfast was decent. The room was well equipped. The mattress was meh.」
