"Overall the property is nice, but could use a re-fresh and some renovation. Everything appears to be a little dated in the common areas (couches, carpet, rugs, etc) The staff is incredibly friendly, polite and helpful and the best part of the stay."

"It is very convenient to shop and transportation. The hotel is old or not good condition. The shower room is not very useful, towels hanger is too high, the toilet is not good flashing and the water sound always heard near the bed’s headboard to make sleep so hard. This is my first time to use APA hotel, the check out time no one is front counter, I just drop the room card but no explanation at the first day. I do not think I will not use APA hotel again even very good rate."

"Excellent service and a great overall experience. The room was everything you could wish for, spacious, clean and comfortable. The morning breakfast selection was delicious and they even have a spot for making onsen eggs!"

"Need a car to get there, or a taxi from a somewhat distant train station. The TALL "kannon-sama" (Buddhist Goddess of Mercy) is the landmark to look for. The hotel is also tall, but the entrance is on a back road from the main road so a little tricky to find. Entrance driveway not marked well when arriving at night. Look for the Golf Course entrance (same entry point) but even then it is a bit tough to find at night. All you can eat buffet breakfast. Lobby bar with beer on tap, various whiskies,...

"Loved our room, the onsen was clean and relaxing. The food was great and the service was perfect."

"Clean and spacious room. It kinda expensive in ski season, but still the best choice at Zao, Yamagata. Smoking room is near the lobby, which is a really bad design, you can smell the stinks every time before taking the elevator. Overall, a great place to stay."
