「The scenery is nice, but there were nuisance calls in the middle of the night, and then the front desk knocked on our door, waking us up, asking if we needed tissue. Didn't sleep well.」

「It’s an older hotel so don’t expect the Ritz! Most properties are getting run down due to age. OC is not what it used to be, I’m from OC NJ and our boardwalk is 100 times better and longer! It’s sad how run down everything looked but we had a good time!」

「The room was very clean and the front desk staff, Heidi was great. The bed was not the most comfortable for me, but I am very picky about a bed. The room was large and our golden retriever was welcomed by Heidi when she came in. I will definitely keep this hotel on my list of places to stay.」

「Very nice stay at the beach, close to the down town and easy access to shops and restaurants.」

「Really terrible. The listing said three bedrooms, but one was a laundry room with a cot which could only fit when folded up. Quite run down and dirty. Stay away.」

「I can’t say enough about the staff at the Castle in the Sand. We had to move from another unrelated hotel in the area after a very poor experience and everyone we dealt with was so helpful. 」

「The property was clean and the staff polite and helpful. The breakfast included with your stay was surprisingly good. The carpet in the hallway on the 4 th floor where we stayed was a little lumpy possibly from water damage but the rest of the property was well kept and well managed. I definitely would recommend and would stay there again.」
