"Really sweet spot just off the beach up a commerce alley. Jishnu the host was very nice and helpful with getting comfortable. Hot shower if you want it - but I’ve learned to love taking cold showers here - and the bathroom was perfectly clean and well appointed. I will be back here at the Gypsy next year for sure."

"We came for a week and booked three more! It’s such a special place❤️ The staff treats you so well and looks after all your needs. It’s far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the cliffs but yet a short walk if you want to venture out for a meal. The beach is fabulous and the Arabian Sea water is so warm and therapeutic. "The Thiruvambadi is a great hotel. It’s in a convenient spot at the very end of the cliff ‘strip’ so, if you turn left out of the hotel, you’ve can walk along the clifftop past lots of shops and an endless choice of restaurants. "Not worth the almost $80 a night charge for a room that's old and mouldy with no air conditioning in the heat of Kerala. Much better options available elsewhere in this town for the same price and even less where you can find better conditions with professional and courteous staff."

"Interesting stay here. The lobby area is beautiful, centred around a supposedly natural pool and banyan trees, water flowing alongside the paths. We stayed in their cheapest room which was poor condition but pretty clean. Can’t really complain for the price. The owner/manager was like a movie villain trying to be nice, loudly playing sinister sounding chants from reception. The morning yoga was great. The Ayurvedic massage was ok. "

What I didn’t like and made me move after the booked time expired was that the bathroom and some of the room has mold growing in the walls. This is seaside and ventilation is of utmost importance but is missing in the bathroom. I mentioned it to the manager but was not placed into a different room.
