Clarendon 3 Stars Hotels

"Place looked quite rundown, old lobby carpet, flooring etc, broken automatic front entrance door. Not sure if they plan to fix the whole place up? The lobby barhroom I used had no toilet paper and toilets dirty appearing, rust stains and rhat faucet water sputtered initially. Front desk person, only saw one, was nice, cordial, informative and efficient. We knew the place did not come with amenities, so didn't expect much. We had brought our own bottles of water. Our room was good for just cheap 1-2 night stay as our only needs were to sleep, shower, personal care there. Air conditioner/heat worked well. Beds good condition and clean. Bathroom was stocked well. Sink and shower both worked very well, toilet old rust stains, but did serve our needs. The rooms did not appear clean, kinda sticky and dusty. Parking lot very empty, and had security concerns. My impression was it seemed as though the place is being primarily used to house the poor, homeless - maybe as this is just my observation/opinion. Do not recommend."

"The room was very clean, the staff was professional and parking was ample. Bed was comfy and close to town. My wish list would be light block shades and the lights in the hall not coming through the large gaps in the door at night. Old structure and fire codes. I get it. The shower was also very very small. If you are larger than average this could be challenging. Otherwise the experience was positive and quintessential Vermont. "

"Very quiet location secluded and peaceful. Location is not identified, no road sign or driveway entrance address. I booked within 3 days of check-in, instructions did not get emailed until after check in time, host did answer phone when called but email was received 30 minutes later. It's a unique place, space is good, lots of amenities to cook and eat. Two bathrooms. Two showers. Lots of hot water and strong water pressure. Most of the unit is updated and modern. However it's tired, worn and dirty. The sofa was covered in dog hair, not just a little bit. It was all over our socks, clothing and floating around. The bathroom shower needed cleaning, walls needed wiping, carpet on stairs all stained and dirty. It you are used to hotels this will disappoint you."
