"We wanted a small hotel for a 2 week stay that was close to the beach and had a pool. This hotel had both and was very affordable. It was in a great location with a very short walk to the beach or to the Main Street. All of the restaurants were nearby. The staff were very kind and friendly. The bed was comfortable and the property was well maintained. We would definitely consider staying here again."

"We wanted a few days of seclusion and Hotel El Risco was perfect for this, It is off the beaten path but in another year or so there will be more connection to this little corner of Oaxaca as the government has ramped up construction on the roads. We came here in off season and were the only guests. The staff primarily speak Spanish but dictionaries and translation apps gave us a great opportunity to communicate and get to know them.
