This place was absolutely beautiful and very historic. The cherry on top was the AMAZING service. We only spent one night here but wish we were able to stay more. Very close to the water and lots of shopping around.

Beautiful old building with a fabulous rooftop terrace. Breakfast on the terrace was wonderful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed in one of the suites which was lovely.

Wonderful coffee shop & hotel

I had a great stay at Zanzibar Coffee House! The staff are so lovely. Breakfast was delicious, & it is served in a beautiful setting on the rooftop overlooking Stonetown. I loved the aesthetic of my room, & everything was super clean!

Stone Town is an amazing place. The hotel is well located and the decor is simple but classy. The roof terrace was great and breakfast was adequate. I took a room with a bathroom down the hall and it felt as if I was in a house. The staff was friendly and helpful.

A beautiful hotel, with lovely friendly happy staff, who always gave a huge morning welcome at breakfast time. Delicious healthy breakfast and the best coffee, I've tasted in a long time, I had to go back for another. I felt very safe and it's in a great location to get to/from the ferry and to walk around to the shops and restaurants.

This place was fantastic! The staff was so friendly, caring, and accomodating. Both my daughters stayed there and were delighted that they received a free welcome drink from the cafe, which had excellent coffee and baked goods. They loved how the towels were made into animals and placed on their beds, along with welcoming words spelled out in coffee beans on the beds. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The room and the hotel are beautifully decorated. We all loved the rooftop terrace and the wonderful, friendly women that served us. It was also an excellent value. My daughters felt very safe staying there. They would stay there again and recommend to others!

It’s a great stay here. Plenty of character , rooms are nice! The coffee itself is quite strong but the breakfast is amazing and staff are lovely. Good location for walking distance within the rest of stone town too.

Great boutique hotel

Fantastic boutique hotel in the middle of stone town. Staff were all fantastic and the room was exactly as in the photos. Loved the little historical items especially the coffee themed ones. Highly recommended

Zanzibar Coffee House was a wonderful place to stay for three nights to explore Stone Town and its surroundings. Noreen and her staff were wonderful and very welcoming. I have stayed in many hotels for both work and leisure travel, and this hotel has to rate as one of the best I have ever stayed in. I highly recommend it to anyone planning to visit Zanzibar.

Zanzibar coffee house provides a unique stay in gorgeous rooms. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. They provided recommendations of where to eat in Stone Town. They also make the best coffee! Breakfast on the rooftop was a highlight for us. Highly recommend.

If you are looking to stay in the heart of Stonetown look no further. The coffee and breakfast is easily the best on the island and the staff are UNBELIEVABLE! My wife is 5 months pregnant and fell sick 2 days into our trip, without asking the staff made her a local tea that is supposed to help with nausea and other ailments. Herensha, one of the managers helped us book a spice tour and checked in with us everyday to ensure our stay was perfect. I cannot express enough how the staff turns this already great hotel into a must stay in zanzibar!

Wonderful place to stay

This is a fantastic hotel run by amazing people. The rooms have been restored and are just so cool. This is the REAL Zanzibar. The rooftop cafe is great. The views are wonderful, cool with a breeze, and the food amazing. We had a room where our private bath was down the hall a few feet. Even with getting up 3 times a night to go it was not a bother. This hotel will arrange your transportation to and from the airport. There is no parking anywhere nearby most of the hotels in Stonetown including this one. This hotel is very walkable.

The bathroom and the bedroom is far apart, so it was inconvenient every time I used it, Also the water in the shower room and sink was running low, making it very inconvenient to use too

I picked Zanzibar Coffee House because I like coffee, and it had a nice online presence. Not much to go by, eh? But I could not have made a better choice. From the moment I arrived the staff was friendly, helpful and a real joy to interact with. When I first arrived I was much too early to check in, but no problem, they stowed my luggage, provided me with some fresh mango juice at their rooftop cafe area - lovely. And when I asked for directions to a place to change money, the manager correctly sized me up as someone who easily gets lost, and had a staff member escort me to the best place to change money. My room was lovely, service was excellent, the breakfasts were yummy. I could not have been happier with my stay there.

The ladies working at the coffee house were so welcoming and friendly the moment I stepped foot on the property. The entire property, from rooms to the rooftop, were aesthetically pleasing. I only had their coffees and breakfast there and it was very delicious. The rooftop is also open to the public during certain hours of the day, so it can get crowded at times. The room I booked did not have an ensuite bathroom, but was a few meters away from the room and private, this could be the case for other rooms as well. Finally, taxis cannot drive up directly in front of the hotel so you must be dropped off somewhere near and it'll be a 2-3 minute walk to the hotel entrance. Aside from the very minor problems, I enjoyed my stay there and would highly recommend staying at Zanzibar Coffee house
