Perfect place to explore Stone Town!
We had a lovely time at Kiponda, the location is amazing for exploring Stone Town and the staff were so welcoming and helpful. We loved the rooftop view from the restaurant. Breakfast was fine but with limited options. Lovely place, thank you!

is is the perfect budget alternative in the heart of Stone town and quiet, safe and peaceful. The breakfast on the nice terrace is good and enjoyable.

Pros:
- staff were lovely and helpful, very accommodating
- good location
- historical building
Needs Improvement:
- our room was terribly small. For just a little more $$, we could have stayed at another hotel with more spacious rooms. But it is an old building...
- breakfast was okay, but I’d like to see them add some pancakes and spreads to the menu, potatoes and a meat (sausage?) too. Coffee Bodum-style, which I appreciated.
- internet seems to be intermittent, but this was a problem at many places we stayed. Ask the staff to reset the modem or turn it off or whatever the guy did when we asked why it wasn’t working.
On another note, I had read through reviews before booking and saw there were a few comments about cockroaches. I didn’t see even one.

Établissement bien situé (à proximité du terminal des ferries, de la plage et de sites à voir). Les chambres sont simples mais propres. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et varié.

Great for solo travelers
The place is very central so easy to get to main area by foot.
The breakfast was nice and there is a really nice guy called Jimmy who can deliver drinks to you for a fair price, it was nice spending the evening on the roof meeting other travelers and having a drink.
