An absolutely beautiful hotel that's an easy walk from the old Medieval walls of York. The hotel room was gorgeous, with a lovely balcony, and the reception and housekeeping staff were wonderful. Genuinely one of my favorite hotels that I've stayed at recently.

The cooked breakfast was good but not a lot of gluten free choices. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water in the shower. The staff were all very friendly and attentive and the manager Cameron was extremely helpful and professional, nothing was too much trouble for him.

Good location, mostly friendly and attentive staff. Good breakfast. Has some minor maintenance issues ie broken or missing lightbulbs and folded cardboard stopping the windows from rattling. No electrical socket near a mirror for hair drying etc and no shaver socker in the bathroom. Worst aspect for us was a mattress like a trampoline, so when one person moved or rolled over the other one bounced, so not the best sleep. We had a generally nice time but things could be improved.
