Excellent, relaxing stay.

Although you do have to spend £10 for car parking, you do get breakfast, a swimming pool and steam room, thrown in. Creaky floors, but room very comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay here again, which is always the best recommendation.

Nice hotel on the outskirts of town

Nice hotel on the outskirts of town not far from the train station. Quiet comfortable rooms. Great breakfast and pleasant staff. Perfect for a weekend while exploring York.

This was a superb stay due to a family feel and exceptional, caring staff. Everything was lovely, except the fact that we were in the old part of the hotel which is not very suited to extreme heat in the summer. Fans were provided but to little avail., it was roasting, even with door open at night. The room itsel was old fashioned but spacious and nice, good beds, good shower, lovely breakfast in the morning. Hotel is a short walk from everywhere, lots of food options in the vicinity. Nearby busses. Would stay there again in a heartbeat because of wonderful staff. lovely breakfat

The hotel was within walking distance to the city centre. Good facilities including a swimming pool. On arrival the receptionist was very welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious and was adequately furnished. The bathroom was a little tired but it was clean enough. For the price point I couldn't really fault the hotel. I'd return to the hotel on my next visit to York and hope that I could book a room in the new extension.

Lovely place to stay.

Really enjoyed my brief stay. Hotel has charm and character. Staff were brilliant: friendly, helpful, and made me feel very welcome. Room was well-equipped and clean. Hotel was quiet at night. Situated in comvenient location for railway station and city centre.

Service was good, the lady waiting at breakfast was very attentive and the food was lovely. The welcome was also good. `the wifi worked very well. The room was ok, needing refreshed. However, the bathroom was disappointing, and the shower location is no good, especially for someone tall.

I enjoyed the stay, particularly use of a drcent sized pool and a steam room. Cooked breakfast was excellent. Staff were warm and welcoming. The hotel itself is a little dated and could do with a sympathetic makeover of the decor. It is located about 25 - 30 minutes walk to the city centre, but there is a bus service from just opposite.

No welcome pack, no fridge, very uncomfortable pillows, no window with a view in bedroom so very dark. Very helpful host and friendly, lovely breakfast, good location for York central, rather surprised to be charged for car parking.

Excellent quiet hotel.

Lovely large room for a couple. Quiet small hotel 10mins by bus from York center. Excellent heated indoor pool, often just us. Very friendly staff. Building works at back not any problem. Car parking. Bus stop opposite, buses every 10mins. Excellent full english breakfast. Some rooms above pool so heated making bedroom warm at night.

Very friendly and attentive staff. Cleanliness is clearly a priority for this hotel. The hotel requires modernising especially in the older part of the property. It's a bit tired in places. The shower in my room was almost a trickle and in need of replacing. Overall I would recommend staying here.
