Clean room, serviced everyday. The staff were friendly and soon started to recognize us and said hi which felt homely. Breakfast was great at all places and especially the dinner at Takali was yum!!!
We loved the pool area and the activities for the kids looked like a lot of fun and the beach activities too.
We loved our experience and would be back.
Room was clean and beautiful. A longer stay (7 days) with kids ends up being limited with food options and breakfast is the same everyday. Staff were very friendly
Perfect resort for the family. Plenty to do. Moses at the marine education centre is the man to book activities with. Wealth of knowledge and a hidden gem.
Great location and lovely staff, however mainly family orientated. Good value for money, with local options still within walking distance of the resort. No issues with checking in or out, and service was always friendly.
First time to this resort as a parent and definitely found this to a be very family friendly resort. The room we stayed at was a bit outdated but it was clean and still comfortable

Our stay at Shangri-la was amazing everyone was kind, friendly, and helpful. Especially Katea and Miki.
Thank you to all staff!
The resort is very big, with lots of different activities available. We like that there’re multiple locations for breakfast buffet, including an adult-only restaurant. The steak house is amazing. Room is a bit old but still very well maintained.
Had a wonderful stay. Transport from the airport to the resort was flawless and booked through the resort. Stayed at the adults only Reef wing and the staff was so attentive. Beautiful beaches and grounds. The food was amazing … and we ate at the Golden Cowrie every morning for breakfast. Would highly recommend.
Shangri La Yanuca Island was a beautiful experience with beautiful helping staff who are consistently and constantly welcoming, some who even went the extra mile to ensure our stay was a memorable one. We were unfortunate to not be granted clear and warmer weather during our stay so hopefully the next time we visit we'll get more use out of all their activities and amenities. We highly recommend Shangri La Yanuca Island, thankyou.
I loved this place! Would highly recommend!
Only complaint is that you only have so much to spend on food per day with the all inclusive package. Which was fine but didn’t like having to watch what we spent for lunch and dinner. Also, the resort is far away from everything so it cost a lot for transportation to do any activities.

Liked: Staff & service
Staff was very helpful and nice. The food was good. New management is only reason I’m not giving a 4 or 5 star. They cut corners and advertise things that are borderline false advertisement. Basically just providing the bare minimum when they could spend an extra few dollars and make the stay so much better. Overall, staff and food are great, management is terrible. Unfortunately, we will be staying elsewhere on our next trip to Fiji.
Had a great time with my family when we visited last month. Thank you to all the staff who were very polite and helpful when we expressed some needs. They moved our room and were always checking in on us to make sure we were happy. Loved all the amenities and restaurants in the resort. The resort duty manager, Sunil was very kind and made sure we had a good time. They even arranged a cake and decoration for my husband's birthday!! Had a fantastic time, overall with our kids. Perfect family spot to enjoy the beauty of Fiji!
The 4 nights my wife and I spent at the Shangri-La Fijian at the end of August were very relaxing and enjoyable. The entire staff upheld the super-friendly reputation of the Fijian culture. Every time we interacted with restaurant servers ( such as asking about the menus, or asking them to take photos of us), they graciously responded.
The ocean view from our room was wonderful!
I love to snorkel, and I found lots of fish as I swam out from the beach area.
A highlight of our stay was the late buffet breakfasts that we had at the Golden Cowrie with lots of food and beverage choices along with a delightful view of the ocean.
Hotel in a beautiful location, but very spacious. Good food, but the cocktails as part of the all inclusive were very disgusting. I definitely do not recommend the all-inclusive program.
We booked a long weekend to explore a new side of the island and had a pleasant, relaxing break overall.
The drinks package was good value for money, even with a curated selection. We also appreciated the opportunity to see a new area. That said, there are a few operational areas where the guest experience could be smoother:
Package Orientation: We found the details of the all-inclusive package-specifically how and where it applied a bit confusing during our first day. Better onboarding at check-in would help guests hit the ground running.
Pool Capacity: The pool area gets crowded quickly for a resort of this size, and additional sun loungers would be a very welcome addition.
Atmosphere: The food was fine, and while the staff were polite, the overall vibe is a bit more hands-off. Families used to the super engaged, energetic atmosphere of Denarau might find the kid engagement here a little subdued.
We made a few good memories during our stay and are glad we went, but it’s likely a one-and-done destination for our family.
Shangri La Fiji never fails to impress.
On behalf of my family , we would like to thank the whole team ( from room maide Timaleti who always left a special towel art for the kids, to Mali and all the boys running the pool/ water activities , the restaurant staff , all restaurants were very good and the lady at the bar of course for all the cocktails) a big thank you for making our holiday extra special. And at last Napoleon featured in the photo always welcomed us with open arms and a big smile and lovely music from his guitar! 5 star experience. We have been here 5 times, the kids always want to come back.
