If you need a Taxi think again! None helpful staff gave us a whole list of mobile numbers and it was basically good luck.
Gave up after 11 call and caught the bus.
No water provided in room
Shower dribbled out
Changed room, still the same!
Bar lounge filthy floor and tables
Told night before visit pool was closed, in fact open! We hadn’t taken costumes! Very expensive for what we experienced!
We have stayed here before, but never again! We weren’t the only disgruntled guests!
For a 4 star hotel although the room was big the furniture look passed it drawers falling apart, sink in bathroom was disgusting no information in the room about services available
Initial reception experience was poor as I was early . I just wanted to confirm was definitely attending etc. When asked if I could get a coffee following my long trip was repeatedly told bar opens at 12.00. It’s fine if you don’t sell or have facility but the was a Costa 2 mins walk away which could have been suggested.

Nothing wrong except value for money
There is nothing fundamentally wrong with this hotel except the complete mismatch between price and condition/quality.
This hotel is extremely over priced. The rooms are fine in general but bathroom was very dated and the electric shower barely had enough pressure to push the water out of the shower head… lucky I do not have much hair to wash! Very noisy extractor fan was also irritating after a while. Maximum price per night for this standard of room would be £80 - half what the normal room rate is.
Unbelievably this hotel was completely full and I can only assume that complete lack of competition in the surrounding area makes it able to charge way above its true value.
Hotel and room in particular clean and tidy with usual standard amenities, however the bed was both noisy with a loose headboard and not very comfortable.
Didnt like the noise and doors slamming in night.
Certainly did not like the bar being closed and shutters down at 10.20pm on a Friday night, with people still in the bar ! Restaurant menu was not inspiring and this seemed the general opinion judging by the lack of diners I saw in the restaurant. Shame really because the building, staff and presentation was good but a one night stay was enough for me.
Nice and big room, though a bit dated. Pool, hot tub and gym in decent condition. Lovely little lake behind to walk. Great buffet berakfast. Unfortunately, had noisy neighbors we heard all night...

Basic. Clean. Not the Spa Hotel you might wish for
We were told on booking check-in was 2pm. We arrived early to get some advice on places to have lunch before checking in and I mentioned in the conversation we would be back at 2pm to check in. Had a glorious lunch and The Fleece and returned at 2pm to be told by another reception staff check in is at 3pm! A little frustrated we sat in the bar for 45min in the end waiting for our room to be ready.
Excited to use the spa facilities we headed to the on-site spa to be met with very tired looking changing rooms, pool area and sauna/steam room. We didn’t use the massage and treatment facilities so can’t comment, but if you are looking for a spa retreat be under no impression that this is a luxury experience you may get from other spa hotels.
The rooms are basic and everything else needs a shake down and spruce up.
We got a good night sleep and comfortable beds and this is a relatively inexpensive hotel in comparison so with our highlight being a trip to see a concert at Blenheim Palace, it’s not all that bad for us... The Fleece pub in town however is a must-go-to for superb food and choice of bar. The town is very beautiful and on a sunny day it really is a must visit.

The hotel room was clean and comfortable.
The staff were helpful and polite.
We enjoyed the spa facility.
The corridor in which our room was situated was noisy at night with people talking and banging doors after 11pm.
The restaurant was disappointing with small portions of food and overpriced.
Not very good at £164 .00 for a single person for 1 night , in a very very tired and dated so called superior room! That didn’t even include breakfast .

Generally very good, and helpful staff, just needs
Generally very good, and helpful staff, just needs a little TLC.
We opted for a deluxe room which was a nice size, and clean with lovely walk-in modern shower and good sized bed.
Was quiet, and enjoyable stay. Main areas including corridors need some TLC as they are a bit run down and has a bit of a 'damp smell'. SPA and pool are good, but quite dated. Steam room was ridiculously hot to the point of unbearable, but Sauna very good. Pool was clean and good. Decent gym as well for a hotel, but a bit tired and messy.
Staff were all excellent. Very friendly and helpful. The lady running the Spa treatments (Kristina?) was very well priced and very good!
Parking excellent. Position of hotel excellent. Staff all very pleasant and efficient. Rooms adequately equipped but badly need updating. Large cracks and crumbling decor under window (room 47). Room had pleasant outlook and away from road and liked being able to open window but either kitchen or hotel ventilation or heating buzzz below room and continuous loud hum until it closed down over night. The base cover of bed base very frayed. Mould under beading around bath impossible to remove and breaks hygiene requirements and very old Mira shower with very low almost non existent shower water pressure.
Breakfast good choice but it seemed bowls of fruit and yoghurt had been kept in fridge repeatable and topped up and very unpleasant and should not happen against environmental health food standards,
We had sandwiches in bar cafe area Sunday pm. The bread had been defrosted or kept in fridge and dry and stiff had to leave half of it. Chips cheap and obviously frozen and heated in oven as such poor quality and tasteless. For the price of stay and food comments management and owners need to improve on updating room and improve quality and stood standards of food bought.
Staff were very good and helpful
Previously a hotel under another name now looking very run down - poor lifts - dirty carpets to general areas
-outside parking area dirty. No sound insulation to the room and unfortunately the group of couples sharing the room next door had no respect for anyone were still banging doors at 4.45 am! Not good!!!
After reading the reviews we were not sure what to expect, always best to go with open mind, pleased we did.
Very comfortable beds, spacious room for a couple with somewhere to sit and relax.
Breakfast and bar food were exceptional. Staff were very friendly.
Pool small and cold but big enough for a dip. Sauna was lovely, shame steam room was unavailable but we are in a pandemic after all.
If we ever need to stay in area again we would not hesitate to book again, thank you very much for a great New Year break.
If we had to make a complaint it would be in jest....there was a spider hanging from a cobweb outside bedroom window...no dusting going on outside then??
