Hotel is about 1 miles along a single track road , the water board closed the road , and to get on to main road you had to drive about 4 miles on single track , which was very scary , Hotel had not put any signs up saying about closer , and was no help at all Breakfast was excellant , tried to book resturant on last , was told they had a party and could not fit us in , they had plenty of tables not being used , we pointed out we were clients staying , but no

When we approached the hotel it looks a stunning country house. Lovely location. We were welcomed very nicely. We had a lake view room. On first appearance it was quaint old and looked inviting. As time went by it was obvious that the upkeep of maintenance was lacking. This was reflected throughout the hotel. Our dinner in the restaurant came cold and my husbands potatoes were missing. The meal did not come up to the stranded advertised unfortunately. Service for breakfast was slow. I could go on and on but the point is that this hotel is expensive and the price per night doesn’t reflect the standard expected for a 4* hotel. The positives were the staff were pleasant. The location was beautiful.
