"We typically have a wonderful experience at this hotel. This booking, however, was less than adequate for several reasons.
1. We splurged a little on the booking as it promised a “pool side” room. It ended up being a room ‘facing the pool atrium’. We would not have paid the difference in price for what we received.
2. The stay happened to coincide with a large family gathering/reunion. The area and pool were super crowded. Unbelievably the hotel allowed this family to leave their towels and ice chests overnight in the prime pool seating to occupy the spaces all weekend. We couldn’t even enjoy the pool on Saturday due to this reunion taking all the space.
3. The bathroom had some kind of beep/chirp noise the whole time. Room 139. We don’t know where it came from but it never stopped
4. Saturday morning the power went out for an hour (7:30-8:30) disrupting our getting ready for the day time. Not a great start to our relaxing day out, again, couldn’t even enjoy the pool.
5. Ref the same reunion above, the trash cans were overflowing from their stay. Likely should have hired extra staff for the inconvenience they cause.
I understand the hotel is going to maximize their booking but don’t slant the entire stay to them or at least warn folks staying of the inconveniences. I’m convinced our room was shifted to accommodate the reunion. Definitely our pool & facility use were dampened. Additionally, Hotels.com should be straight forward with room location for the extra price"
