We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Colonial Gardens. The room was comfortable, spacious, and well appointed. Angela was a fantastic host. We even had some extra needs beyond the norm and she took care of us with a smile. We’ll be back!

One word- cockroach. I went to bed around 11:00PM, and I looked up at the ceiling to a bug I had never seen before. I texted my daughter a pic and asked her what it was. It was a cockroach. She said VA was known to have a problem with them. I stood on the bed and banged a book against it, and it fell. I took another picture, to make sure I had identified it. I only stayed one night, and hardly slept at all. I found out that the contact info that the owner shared with me was only texting, when I called about the cockroach. She had said she could be reached until 10:30PM only. I texted her questions BEFORE 10:30 about how to get the fan to work without having the light on, asked her about breakfast (it was a separate charge) at 9:55 but no response. My last text was at 11:47, when I told her to cancel breakfast. I texted her again at 9:44 am. I had found a hotel that didn't have cockroaches. Her other issues: the room smelled musty, probably from the cockroach problem. The faucet dripped. The AC was not adequate. There was no ice. The coffee machine overflowed. Drawers to put my clothes and things were filled with tacks, old office supplies and electronic detritus. It was a horrible experience. I asked her for a refund and told her it was a morally correct thing to do. She told me that I MUST HAVE BROUGHT THE COCKROACH in with my luggage. It was absurd This owner clearly has issues with maintaining this property. She refused accountability. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE!

Breakfast was the best I've ever had at a B&B. Location is beautiful and convenient to cover the gamut of American history from Jamestowne, Colonial Williamsburg, America's oldest family business Shirley Plantation, Yorktown where independence was won, presidents' homes such as Monticello, and civil war sites in and around Fredericksburg.

Beautiful B&B

Angela, the owner of the home was fantastic! She has a beautiful place and maintains it very well. We stayed for 2 nights, each morning she made us a wonderful breakfast and found time to engage in delightful conversation about the history of the home and things to do in the area. Very convenient to William & Mary, Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown Settlement. My wife and I highly recommend visiting to see this gem for yourself.

Loved our stay, loved our hostess.

We were very pleased with our stay at Colonial Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia. We stayed in the spacious Rhododendron room. Our hostess sent a welcome text with clear check-in instructions, the breakfast meals were delicious with ample portions, the furnishings and decor were pleasing, the rooms and linens immaculate, and our hostess was very friendly and knowledgeable about Colonial Williamsburg which was our main destination attraction. We instantly felt like part of the family and would highly recommend this facility for anyone who likes the intimacy of a bed and breakfast experience or even for someone who has more private preferences.

Absolutely perfect!!!

I had never stayed in a bed-and-breakfast before, but my wife convinced me it would be fun. Little did I know how great this experience would be. When we arrived, we were greeted by Angela, the innkeeper. What a wonderful woman. A great host, a great cook, and a wealth of information about Williamsburg. This may have been one of our greatest vacations we would gladly go back again. Angela, thank you again for a great time. Andy and Donna.

A gem and comfortable place to stay!

Colonial Gardens B&B is a gem nestled close to the living museum of Colonial Williamsburg. Angela, the warm and welcoming owner/proprietor, goes above and beyond with her local knowledge, steering us to fantastic dining spots and must-see attractions. The B&B's decor perfectly captures the colonial charm, creating a cozy atmosphere that complements the area's rich history. The beds are heavenly - I've never slept so well away from home! We loved the spaciousness and cleanliness of the rooms. We also enjoyed the comfortable common living room area. The breakfast area is picturesque, with big windows and a view of the serene trees on the property. Delicious breakfast and great conversations with Angela and Theresa round out an exceptional stay. If you're visiting Colonial Williamsburg, look no further than this delightful home away from home.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ We will be regular guests thanks to how nice a place it is.

We stayed at this lovely property while in town for a family event. Angela our hostess and "innkeeper" was in contact with us just after booking as well as the day before our arrival. She made sure we had a safe arrival and also prepared fantastic breakfast for us. The house itself has some interesting history within its bricks and it sits very conveniently on an accessible road to all of Williamsburg's attractions. One thing to be aware of is that you may not see the Colonial Gardens sign from the road however, there is a white mailbox post to use as a landmark. The style of the house fits in very well with the area with lots of antiques and finishes. We engaged with the other guests in the mornings while enjoying our breakfast as well as Angela who filled us in on a bunch of history that helped make our visit quite interesting.

Loved the entire experience of Williamsburg!

Loved the friendliness and helpfulness of Angela, the owner. Breakfast of home cooked eggs, breakfast meat, fruit cup, and cinnamon roll or muffin was delicious! Bed was very comfortable, too! Would come back in a heartbeat!
