Tents are spacious, clean, and nicely furnished with modern amenities. Food at the restaurant is delicious. The reception area is cozy with a fireplace, books, and games, and the building that houses the reception and restaurant is beautiful. The activities near the lake are fun. The location is beautiful and peaceful, in the middle of the forest. An excellent place to stargaze. Staff is very friendly. This was my family’s second stay here, and it is truly one of my favorite places.

We chose to spend our anniversary here and Backland did not disappoint. The entire staff was awesome and super friendly! Stargazing was definitely a highlight along with nightly smores. We will definitely be back in the future!

Outstanding in every way!

Friendly reception, gorgeous accommodations, tasty food, divine views!!! We arrived a little early and were cheerfully accommodated, our tent was sparkling clean and had thoughtful touches throughout, the chef’s specials were intriguing and delicious~ could not ask for a sweeter escape. Will come again to see it in the summertime.

Absolutely amazing! Carly and Chase are incredible, down to earth and so welcoming! Backlands is an amazing place to disconnect yourself from the everyday. The property is gorgeous with so much to do, and take in. To waking up every morning and see Elk and deer in the fields to Unbelievable stargazing!! All of it is just so amazing, Thank You Backlands.

This place is a hidden gem! Staff was amazing, food was great. We surprised our young adult kids on a little side trip from Scottsdale, and stayed a night at Backland. We shared a tent with five of us and were very comfortable. What an amazing place to walk and explore. The stargazing was awesome, and we all decided we would love to come back.

First time at glamping. Would definitely recommend this location. There’s a beautiful lake to explore with 4 kayaks from the property. You have all facilities in a big tent. Every day we woke up with the best forest view.

This is a very special resort, unlike no other. The tent is well appointed and way beyind our expectations. The staff is so super helpful and friendly. We really felt their pride in this special place. Highly recommended for all . The breakfast was so fresh and delightful as well as boxed lunch and dinner. I really can't stress how wonderful backland is we will definitely be returning.

Backlands vacation

It was awesome, very quite and relaxing. Staff was very nice and always attentive. Had fires going outside at night, smores at the ready. I would bring snacks next time since getting to a town is harder/longer on the forest dirt roads. But overall a great experience.

This was an excellent property! The staff were very helpful and fun to chat with. I would suggest they do something to make the walking path on property usable. The views are great and walking around there would be awesome.

We have had the most amazing time, we have three kids that did not want to leave the property for the 3 days we were there. Spent the days kayaking, fishing, playing chess and a bunch of other games made available by the property, walked through the forest, watched the rain, watched the moon through the telescope available at the property … all in all - an amazing experience !!! We will be back :)

I was never a camping fan but I became a fan of glamping for sure . The facilities were really good .. the only beef I have is that the continuous clicking sound of the gas tank outside as I had to keep the heater on in the freezing temps. Otherwise everything was A
