Tv in first room didn't work. Tv in second room wasn't working. Front desk would not change us again and would not come to room to see the problem. Told us we would have to wait until next morning when maintenance came in. Told her we were checking out the next morning so it wouldn't do us any good. Staff was not friendly or helpful

We understand your concerns, however, it is our standard procedure to require a deposit from people who live within a certain distance of the hotel. Regarding your request for a waiver, we regret that we were unable to accommodate it on this occasion. It's important to note that we have a responsibility to maintain the quality of our accommodations for all guests. In the past, we made an exception to waive the deposit for you, but unfortunately, smoking occurred in the room, which necessitated the enforcement of our policies for the benefit of all guests.We appreciate your understanding in this matter and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you under more favorable circumstances in the future.

Needed more staff. Those present were friendly and helpful. Room smelt like cigarette smoke. A machine outside ran loudly all night. Room poorly laid out. Needed a toilet lid over the seat.

Very clean and comfortable
Recently renovated room. Our King room was clean, updated bathroom and furnishings. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff too. Overall a very good experience. Tried to get a bottled water in the lobby when we arrived in the evening; we couldn’t get one unless we were a club member. None in the vending machine. Had to wait until ‘breakfast’.

The room was very clean. I always look at the bathroom. The tile in the shower was pristine white. We had a little trouble with the deadbolt, spok to the desk person and were immediately given another room. The manager and employees were friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was slim, coffee not hot but adequate to get me to lunch. Overall, the value of the room couldn't be beat!

Looks good, but…
The check in was easy, the lady at the desk was pleasant. The room looked clean, the bedding as well. The room looked very nice and spacious. But sitting on the bed I noticed the dust on the lamp bases. When my partner was in the bath he noticed a dried up lump of dog poop behind the toilet. This would mean they didn’t sweep, mop or wipe behind the toilet when cleaning. Yuck!

Renovated but missing key details. Staff was great
Where to start? Checked in with 2 rooms & was given 1 room that looked like someone had just checked out. Lady at the front desk was apologetic & moved us to another room. Shower had hairs in it before I even used it. Floor was recently replaced, but in the bathroom there was a bump or something underneath cuz it was not flat. Most of the breakfast was wiped out so we had to go elsewhere. Again the lady at the front desk apologized. On a positive note, the 2 employees were very friendly & helpful in regards to our issues.

We were placed at the very back of the building and had to walk around the back of the building in a dark area with no lights to find our room. There were tables and equipment on the path so we had to walk and roll our bags through the dirt and mud. The map was not accurate and they did not tell us that the corner rooms were storage rooms and we had to pass 3 more rooms to find ours even though the map said it was on the very corner. Had to go back to the office, have them tell is this, then back to the room. All after a long drive, at 11pm, with my 9 year old daughter who was terrified of how the building appeared back there. The room itself was clean and appreciate the mattress cover. But please fix the back of the building our dont make people stay in those rooms that are hard to access.

Okay stay.
Stay was okay. For the price, it was not so good. First, dried food, looked like dried rice, on the floors. Other than that room was okay. Didn’t bother to complain because I didn’t want anything worse. Cops showed up for something, i know people were smoking weed by the fireplace, so maybe it was just cause of that, but idk. My room faced the inside and there’s no parking on that side and I was worried about my car being far away. But everything was fine. Rooms are renovated so they’re kind of okay.

The property was probably a motel previously and then purchased and given a quick makeover. The floors were new, the beds and bedding were new but everything else was obviously poorly painted over. The patch work on the walls and doors was not good, there were stains on the doors, dirty hand prints on the bed, the paint around the doors were smeared and messy. There was a sign on the door of the room that was specific to the safety of your vehicle and locking the room door. The beds are extremely firm. If you like a firm bed, you’ll be fine. Otherwise it’s really uncomfortable. The bedding is super stiff and rough, again nit my preference but if you like that it will be fine. Lastly, the ‘breakfast’ is jimmy dean egg sandwich’s that you have to warm up for yourself, you hurt, cereal and some fruit.

Red roof inn generally doesn't get high remarks, but this is a major exception to the rule. Very recent renovation that was well done; much more through than your average slap-paint-new-beds renovations you see in older hotels. Clean and great stay, significantly cheaper than nearby competitors.

Just know this is a Motel, instead of a hotel. Not sure where the “suites” fit into the name. However, property was clean, newly renovated, and the staff, front desk and housekeeping, we met were very nice. I would recommend it for a short stay.

Great room for the price!
We were on a spontaneous trip just to get out of town for a night, and ended up in Wilksboro. We booked through the app while sitting in the hotel parking lot and checked in just five minutes later with no problem. The hotel was recently renovated and was nicely updated. We felt safe and comfortable. It was just what we needed for a night’s rest before heading back home. No frills, but for the price, it was perfect!

Room was newly renovated, and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The only issues we had, which were minor, was the tub drained slowly while showering, and the Spectrum stream had to buffer several times throughout the evening. I would highly recommend this Red Roof Inn.
