"The building's best feature is its view overlooking Vienna. For that alone, it is worth being out of the city. So too, the historic building the hotel is located within is remarkable. This latter detail comes at a price, though; it's a creaky, old building lacking in certain modern features. But you'll overlook that for the most part. "We were blown away by our wonderful stay here. Staff was so friendly (especially our delightful bellman!) We tried to find a place that had a lovely European feel, and this ticked all of our boxes. Our suite was beyond gorgeous and impeccably clean. Very near public transit. What a wonderful introduction to your gorgeous city! Can't wait to go back."

"For the price, this place is hard to beat. For the cons: The in-room closet space sucks and there’s no mini refrigerator, but they have a galley where you can buy cold water and snacks. I’d advise you to bring a clothes steamer, otherwise you’ll be using the “community iron” on the 3rd floor. The layout is also confusing and off putting. Reception is on the 5th floor so instead of human beings your greeted by an elevator when you enter the building. You’ll never get used to where your room is as the hallways are dimly lit and break off into random directions. The hotel also doesn’t have much of a view to speak of. They have a terrace behind the bar but, you’re looking into the backs of other people’s apartments. Now onto the pro’s: The rooms are clean and comfortable and come with a little Marshall Bluetooth speaker that has bass and treble controls! Their soaps and conditioners smell amazing( to me anyway) The bed is a single mattress, not that weird split down the middle thing they love in Europe for some reason. The staff are cool and very helpful You have several good places to eat in the immediate surrounding area of the hotel. Air conditioning! Which was a savior during this unbelievably scorching weekend To conclude: When you’re visiting Vienna, all you really need is a clean comfortable place to lay your head. You need to be out IN VIENNA, not in your room. With that said, the ruby marie is a perfectly fine hotel and I would have no regrets coming back"

"From the start of our stay right to the end was just excellent! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. The air-con was good and very welcome - especially as we arrived at same time as a heat wave! The breakfast was excellent, there’s something for everyone and plenty of choices cooked and continental. Great location - walking distance from train Station. Hotel is literally opposite Schönbrunn park, (Hietzing gate entrance) loved it - would definitely come back here to stay."

"We had a bit of an unusual arrangement and initial miscommunication was very much due to the third party website used for the initial booking. However the staff themselves were brilliant in helping us resolve the matter and looking after us once we were there. We also arrived in the middle of a heat-wave and the hotel made sure we were looked after and managed to source extra fans to ensure we were comfortable. Breakfast was very good value we felt and very convenient to ensure that we could maximise the short time we had in Vienna for sight seeing. Would highly recommend the hotel for a weekend break and we are already thinking of returning in the autumn."
