Old but good hotel, friendly staff, free overnight parking to the rear of the hotel on street but no issues comfy room and bed and perfect for my stay Would recommend

All in all a pleasant stay in a well appointed hotel which clearly caters for the elderly very well. Close to the beach and to the transport hub and land train pick up and drop off points is a major benefit.

Views from sea view room exceptional. Sea Beats restaurant next door so convenient. Friendly staff and clean rooms. The car park at rear of hotel which is two minutes walk away is an added bonus.

In-laws' favourite hotel!

Stay was for in-laws, who have stayed here several times before, and this hotel is always their first choice. The rooms are lovely, the food is very good, and the staff are incredibly welcoming & helpful. Plus, you cannot beat the location!! I have no doubt they will be back again in the near future!!

Sea front hotel, close to the attractions and harbour where you can find plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. Friendly staff who were helpful, clean large room with comfortable bed, good breakfast. I would say the windows could do with cleaning and refurbishment but this doesn’t spoil your stay. All in all I would recommend staying.

Best hotel in Weymouth

Best hotel in Weymouth. Overlooking the beach. Near the shops and restaurants. Quays a short pleasant walk away. Hotel very old but well presented for its age. I always stay here if i can, when visiting Weymouth. Reception staff are very welcoming and friendly. Always willing to help too.

Great location. Room was functional and clean. Decor not the most up to date but perfectly acceptable. Didn’t try the breakfast but there is a Wetherspoons right down the street!

Overall value for noney

Superb location next to the beach shops and restaurants. The hotel was a bit tired and dated but the room although creaky was clean and adequate. Breakfast was ok warm but considering it was included with the room price, good value. Parking was difficult to find however we found a space at the rear for £6 a day.

Great location couple of minutes walk from the train station. Great breakfast - plenty of choice. Hotel has a lift which made getting around in the hotel much easier. Dog friendly hotel, mention to reception when booking if you want a room away from dogs. We had a superior room which had a great view and was a good size. Would we stay again - yes we would!

Entrance and building superb, views from front and side are amazing. Some rooms have been updated whilst some not. Shower was not good, very slow. Staff extremely efficient and friendly- breakfast very good.

Pleasant stay

Pleasant one evening stopover in a single room with fabulous view over the bay. Clean comfy room. Only slight negative was the scrambled egg on the buffet breakfast. It was revolting.i assume it was powdered or something. Eughh!

Our rooms were very spacious and we had a sea view, which was great. It all needs updating and we would have liked fresh water and hot chocolate with the choice of drinks. Otherwise 👍

Perfect Location

We stayed here and found the location excellent for walking along the sea front or shopping, we managed to park our car right outside the front door and because we had Blue Badges we could park indefinitely as long as we only displayed the blue badge information and not the clock card, receptionist told us this, she was a great help with information, we had a Sea view room and would recommend it for the spectacular sunrise and sunsets we saw, even watching cruise ships passing, breakfast was great, more then enough choice for us, Weymouth was a place we had never been too but really liked it, if you like Italian food just a few doors on the esplanade up is Enzo restaurant which is excellent, will definitely stay at the Royal hotel again

Stunning Victorian hotel in great location

This historic hotel is an amazing building in a prime location. But like most Victorian seaside hotels, it needs work inside to bring it back to its hey day. The hallways have peeling wallpaper and damp spots, and some floorboards are a bit spongey. But never the less, it's charming, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was a little disappointing, pretty standard fare, but the breakfast room itself was beautiful - overlooking the sea front. The staff were all charming and terribly helpful. We will be back!
