"Clean and well maintained hotel. The king room with jetted tub was large and beautiful. Breakfast is no longer made to order but a buffet with somewhat limited types of items, however at least it was a hot breakfast. Only complaint was around the pool/hot tub/steam room. They weren’t bad but front desk said they were all working when in fact the jets in the hot tub were out of order (makes a difference if you’re choosing a hotel in part because of amenities). Also it’s supposed to be open to 10 pm but the cleaning person came in at 9:30 pm on Saturday evening when I was the only person there and basically started doing all the night maintenance, ie opened the boiler room and started filling the hot tub with cool water, so it cooled down, and while I was in it then opened the steam room to clean it (letting out all the steam) until I repeated that I was still using the facilities. She was nice enough about it but waited for me by sitting on a lounge chair and pausing the cool water going into the hot tub, so I felt awkward that she was clearly waiting around with nothing else to do except for the cleaning tasks after I left. I ended up tense and feeling guilty/annoyed and the opposite of relaxed. I suggest management say the closing hours are 9:30 pm if she is scheduled to clean up and close down at 9:30 pm, because it’s disappointing if that’s the last moment you have to relax and you thought you had until 10. "

"The house and our room were exactly as expected, full of charm and very comfortable. The staff we met were also just wonderful, so welcoming and accommodating. Make sure to review the hotel policies and open/closed amenities before you book (the website isn't clear on those). Additionally, I wish we had simple access to the in-room fridge (which apparently is for mini-bar items only) -- we love shopping local and often that includes perishables. "
