I don’t have anything negative to say….our 3 days there were fantastic and memorable. 3 bedrooms and 3 baths with living area and kitchen( all large) and price can’t be beat. My next time in Westport I’ll be staying at McCarthys!

STAY AWAY. This is by the far one of the worst stays I've ever had in all of my times traveling around the world. The listing stated their was a front desk with limited hours and a full Irish breakfast. When I called the number listed on the Expedia listing (which is a woman's personal cell phone), I asked about the breakfast and was blatantly lied to. I was told "We haven't had breakfast since COVID." The reviews on Expedia and Google show this is simply untrue. They were still serving breakfast during the pandemic and coincidentally after I mentioned this, it was taken down from the listing (good thing I have a screenshot). Need to check in? Go next door to the pub. Oh and if they're not there? Try to call those cell phone numbers listed on the front door and if no one answers? You're out of luck. I thought I was staying in a traditional Irish bed and breakfast and was excited to support a small business, but this couldn't be farther from the truth. There's no vents in the rooms and the windows are locked so it's literally stagnant air. I could go on, but suffice to say, I couldn't wait to leave. It was truly uncomfortable on every level and the sad thing is I paid hotel prices. To say I was scammed is an understatement. If the other hotels nearby weren't booked, I would have left instantly.

Excellent B&B

Group of 4 x Hill walking friends stayed in this central location in Westport for two nights B&B. All areas where clean, presentable & with multiple hand sanitiser locations throughout. Our Host Geraldine & staff where most endearing in all areas of hospitality during our stay via providing a large communal area with complimentary tea & coffee, fridge, ironing facility, great breakfast, and also with pre-booking Bars/Restaurants for us during the restrictive COVID-19 period. While the McCarthy's Bar is currently not open during COVID, I would have no hesitation in recommending or staying here in the future.

Accomodation was fantastic - right next door to the pub. It was very clean and the breakfast was amazing. Geraldine couldn't do enough for us. The pub itself has a great atmosphere with live music at 5:00 PM and again around 9:00 PM. Typical Irish pub where everyone is made feel very welcome. I'm sure you will not be disappointed.

Centre of Westport

Friendly, small B&B adjacent to a bar in the centre of town. Rooms are upstairs on two floors and the building does not have an elevator. We had a comfortable, small, clean room and bathroom with a walk-in shower, at the rear of the building. It was quiet. Rooms overlooking the street may be noisy as the street is busy. A desk, and good wifi were provided. No safe, no frig. Tea/coffee is available 24/7 in the guest lounge downstairs. Breakfast (substantial) was served in a basement room overlooking a pleasant courtyard. McCarthy’s Bar does not serve meals but we had a good meal at a nearby hotel which had delightful traditional Irish music after dinner. There is no on-site parking. We parked free on the street outside.

Perfect for a couple of nights in Westport

It was a perfect place for us to stay, we could park up and enjoy Westport. The pub had great traditional music on the Sunday night we stayed. Rooms were spacious and comfortable (a little update would make it perfect). Breakfast was good.....cooked to order which was great. Lots of stairs so this accommodation would not be suitable for some people.
