The Country Inn of Berkeley Springs

"The staff at the hotel were the nicest people ever! We got to the hotel before the check in time, but they let us check in early. When we inquired about places to eat, they recommended the restaurant there and several of the waitresses chatted with us as we were checking out the menu trying to decide if I'd be able to eat anything on it because of my dietary issues. The hotel itself is decorated with a good mix of comfort and history. Our room was small and quaint. We were in the back of the historical section so it was quiet. The only complaints I have are the bed was way too hard, there isn't a fan in the bathroom and when I was showering the water all of a sudden got cold. Otherwise this is one of the best places my husband and I have stayed in! The hotel is right next to the state park where there's a spa and a Roman bathhouse where you can go soak in the mineral water. And again, the front desk clerks are the nicest, friendliest people!!! If/when we get back to Berkeley Springs, we will definitely stay there again, just not in the same room. 😊 "

"Older hotel, our room was nice and clean though. Breakfast would have been great had they actually been bringing food out. As it was we had to fight for scraps or wait over 40 minutes for eggs, fresh fruit, sausage gravy. Pretty annoying to see staff just sitting there when we had places to be. I never complain about service but it was really sad how little trouble they took to make sure we were provided for."

"The dining experience was very disappointing for both dinner & breakfast. The menu selection for dinner should be kept to simple dishes that are easy to prepare. The short ribs we ordered compared to Dinty Moore beef stew. The oyster appetizer was served over a plate of salt with sliced white bread??The eggs at breakfast arrived cold. On the bright side the servers were good, they unfortunately had to serve sub par food. This restaurant could be so much better than it is! The reviews for this restaurant are not good & now we know why. Please feel free to contact us!"

"The bed was comfortable. The hotel is definitely showing its age. Our room was clean, a bit muggy even with the air adjusted. Bathroom was extremely small. Check-in was quick and easy. Front desk staff was very helpful and kind. Would stay again for an affordable place that was clean."
