"This is a historic hotel so not your typical rooms. The owner is wonderful and rooms are clean. The stairs to the rooms are steep but the owner is more than willing to help carry things to your room. There is a common fridge for guests and courtesy coffee and tea. A fun stay for history buffs and walking distance to the restaurants."

"It is a beautiful setting, the rooms clean, updated, well supplied for necessities. Beds-- very comfortable. Front desk staff very friendly & helpful. Location surprisingly quiet at night; tho during regular hours talking in adjoining room could occasionally be heard thru the wall. Room has a fridge. If you need a microwave, there is a central one for guests to use--be sure to ask about it. Be prepared for "cozy" at 169sq ft. as these rooms harken back to the "motor court" days. The hotel was a great base from which to explore natural sites & history in the Eastern Sierra's. Would stay here again."

"Rustic with updated touches. Very clean and quiet. We had a view of the forest behind and birch trees starting to color in front. The kitchen was spotless and appliances fine. The complimentary ground coffee was really good. There are some food options, and others close by. We were going to Grover hot springs for a dip, and came to stay here for the first time. We’ll be back."
