The chef provides a great variety of flavors and quality dishes all served hot and on hot plates. The stairs are somewhat challenging for the elderly and mobility impaired. 「This hotel is in an excellent position to the town. The staff were efficient and friendly and the breakfast was the best we've had in a hotel for a long time. Unfortunately the hotel is is need of an update. We had the first room (51) on the ground floor. This backed onto a courtyard outside the kitchen. 「An old-fashioned hotel in an old building but there's nothing wrong with that - it has character, unlike a lot of modern anodyne ones. Service was exceptional: accommodating and friendly. It is located dead in the centre of the old town and is ideally placed for exploring it (and for staggering back from the pubs!). It also has a well regarded Thai restaurant on the ground floor, so no need to go far if you don't want to. There is free parking at the back. I would certainly stay again if I was...

The pub & restaurant have an amazing wine selection, a superb selection of excellent beers from Lacons and fabulous food. All in all, hospitality how you would want it and food how you would dream about it! Fabulous. 」

「A wonderful stay, friendly staff, comfortable clean room with very large bed. Amazing breakfasts and evening food. Safe parking and lovely location. Only minor issue was it was advertised on Expedia as separate shower and bath when in fact it was shower over bath. Thank you for looking after us.」
