"Staff were so welcoming and helpful, our room looked recently renovated and was updated and clean. The kitchenette was such a bonus! The beds were very comfortable. The location was convenient and even though it's located along a highway it was quiet. I have zero negative things to say about our 2-night stay! The only thing that may throw people off is that from the outside it didn't come across as very inviting or updated, but it really is a great hotel!"

"We loved the simplicity of our weekend. No tv, no distractions, no problem. Easy to leave our car parked and walk along the lake and around town. Quiet, clean and spacious room with a nice welcome tray of tea and delicious shortbread. We had a nice dinner and very tasty breakfast at the Kilmorey lodge across the street which has a nice dining room and a quaint pub. The front desk at the Kilmorey also served as our front desk. We enjoyed the friendly staff and laid back vibe of the property and throughout the town. We were in Waterton in June for the first time in 30+ years and resolved to get back before winter. What a great place to stay and enjoy the scenic beauty of the area. Quiet, peaceful and a real Alberta treasure."

"The historic hotel was unique and beautiful! It was situated atop a hill that overlooked Upper Waterton Lake and Waterton/Glacier National Parks. The view from the lobby was magnificent. There was both a lounge and formal dining room (the dining room required reservations). The dining hall food was good, but limited. There was a coffee/gift shop in the hotel, which were very convenient for the guests. The staff were great and very helpful! There was one historic elevator, which had to be operated by a staff person, which was fun to ride. The rooms and bathroom were small but comfortable. Options for a king bed or two queens/doubles would be beneficial as well. The hotel offered lectures by staff every evening, which was a great plus to learn some of the history of the hotel and area. It was also conveniently located to the various scenic roads and Waterton National Park. The only negative comment is that they had an "amenities package" that cost $20/day (Canadian dollar) for items that are usually offered by hotels for free - such as hair dryers, iron, ironing board. Given that the hotel was fairly expensive, guests should not have had to pay extra for the use of a hair dryer. Overall the hotel was a great place to stay with excellent staff and location."

"An old-world type of accommodation in every way. The decor is vintage in a homey way -- no overdone antique frills. The Lodge was originally a private home, and bedrooms while small, do have private bathrooms. The hostess was extremely friendly and chatty, and joined guests at breakfast time in the living room, where lodgers shared experiences over coffee and freshly baked muffins. While out of the mainstream touristy area of the town, it is only by a short walk to excellent restaurants, boat tours, lakeside strolls, and shops. A truly unique find!"
