The hotel is beautiful, check in was smooth, and the property was clean. Overall the staff was kind, professional, and helpful. A few things would have greatly improved our experience.
1. The destination fee is outrageous. It is expensive ($30+~$5 tax per room per day) and the benefits are misrepresented and miserly. For example, the metro card is per room, not per reservation. I looked into booking a “discounted “ town car through the hotel and was quoted a rate nearly double the highest quoted by any company I contacted directly. We never saw, nor were we offered, the healthy snacks that are supposedly included. All told, the fee for two rooms x two nights , including tax, came to $140. For this we received uneven wi-fi service, $6 in Metro carfare, and four bottles of water. I would have much preferred to simply pay for decent WiFi a la carte. This felt like theft.
2. We requested housekeeping service our room in the late morning/early afternoon when we knew we would be out. They didn’t show up until late afternoon, when we were back in our room resting.
3. The atrium-facing rooms are very loud. Had I known this would be the case I would have requested street-facing rooms (we had one of each and the street-facing room was *much* quieter.
4. There is not nearly enough drawer space, and our room did not include a luggage rack from which to unpack.
