"The room itself was fine -- we'd been on the road for ten days in six different hotels, and this room had the most comfortable bed and bedding that we'd slept in throughout the trip. My husband had the usual complaints about there being no towel bars or hooks around the bathroom sink (separate from the room with the toilet and shower)—it's a weird blind spot in even the best hotels. As usual, we picked Doubletree over other hotels int eh areas for the cookies, and they did not disappoint.
My real annoyance was with the check-in process. When I walked in, the clerk asked, "Parking?" before she said hello. I was going to park our car, so I said yes, It turns out that this hotel offers airport parking and a shuttle to the airport, but I was not there for that. She proceeded to start filling out things for that parking, even after I showed her my confirmation number from Expedia and she looked puzzled, as if she'd never seen one before. Finally, when I could not understand her questions about departure and arrival times, I said, "I don't understand. I'm checking into the hotel." Then she got testy and said, "Well, I asked if you were parking." I said, "Yes, I am parking, but I'm also staying here. Am I supposed to know your procedures?" Then she said it was too early to check in, so I had to come back in an hour. It was not a good experience overall."
