I have stayed at the IC hotels worldwide, and this experience was exceptional, as nowhere during the booking, was mentioned that the property was undergoing refurbishment, therefore the lobby was out of action, no bathroom facilities in the lobby and restaurants were available.
As an IHG member, I booked my partners visit via Expedia, and prepaid, with her name Cleary advised on the booking, but at reception, it was a whole drama with access to the 2nd room being refused, as i was not there in person.
This is exactly why i booked via Expedia to avoid this issue, if I had booked via my IHG membership.
Amenities in the room were fairly limited.
Generally IC hotel group has been a relaible home away for home for me worldwide, but this particular property was exceptionally unique, when considering the room rates and limited faciities of the hotel.
I hope it will improve after the refurbishments are completed, but would suggest to advise gusets on your bookings bage that the hotel is undergoing refurbishtment.
