An amazing couple runs this place , absolutely amazing different got that Kiwi hospitality, Very clean and tidy and warm and comfortable makes you feel like home, And the hot tub at the end of a long day is just absolutely amazing! Would definitely stay here again

Very nice location for walking around town and doing nearby hikes. The communal kitchen had everything a travelling person could need and the outside and inside areas were welcoming. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating.

As a solo traveller, I thought this was a really good option for a place in Wanaka, one that afforded private rooms but large, tidy and well appointed common spaces. I'd stay here again.

Amazing experience at Altamont Lodge. Jeff is a very friendly and helpful host, and check in was very smooth and immediately made us feel home. The facilities offered cover everything you need, including a well equipped kitchen and a comfortable lounge. Highly recommended!

Beautiful lodge/hostel. Everything you need. Property owner is very friendly and gave a wonderful tour upon arrival. Only drawback is that it is a bit out of the downtown area (~2km)... still walkable and a pleasant walk at that... but just a note for those who may have mobility issues and no vehicle. Totally recommend!

We traveled NZ for a month, and this was hands down the nicest 'shared common space' place we stayed. well equipped, clean, enough space and well managed. wouldn't look for anywhere else if we're ever back in Wanaka

Very beautiful lodge and very clean! Good for a short stay! But the wall of the room is very thin, and we had an annoying neighbor we’re talking until the midnight, so didn’t get a good sleep at that night.

Warm welcome from Altamont Lodge, rooms spotless and plenty of facilities available eg parking, large kitchen and washing machines. Room tip: if possible, avoid room 1, its a bit close to the double doors and bathroom making it a bit noisy but that depends on the other guests! E

I couldn't fault this place. Spotlessly clean and uncluttered. Even when the lodge was full it never felt crowded because there is plenty of space in common areas, while still feeling cosy. Kitchen was large and functional. Never had to wait for bathrooms or shower. My room was upstairs where there is only 2 rooms, as opposed to off the main hallway where the majority of rooms are, so I can't comment on noise overnight from neighbouring rooms. The managers here are friendly and do a fantastic job of maintaining the lodge and grounds to a high standard.
