A Very Good Day/Night

Raad and his brothers were very good hosts, attentive to all needs, and informative, over dinner and a campfire chat, about the Bedouin relation to Wadi Rum. The location of the camp is, of course, stunning, and the jeep tour well worth it.

Beautiful location in the desert

Stayed three nights in February. Please note that the camp is about 15 minutes drive from Wadi Rum Village and is not in the village as shown by the map. Apparently most of the camps in Wadi Rum do this is to stop guests trying to drive themselves to the real site and getting stuck in the sand! Make sure you call them in advance and they will collect you from the village. Location is beautiful. Camp has about 10 fixed tents plus toilet/shower unit and eating/communal area with fire. Hot water in showers. Food was basic but filling; I was never left hungry. Breakfast included and dinner cost 10JD. There was some gentle pressure to book one of their tours (jeep safari, hiking, camel, etc) but when I made it clear I wanted to do my own walking they left me to it. On the morning you leave they drive you back to Wadi Rum village. Be aware: it gets very cold at night in the desert but the camp has lots of warm blankets and the beds are comfortable. Overall, a great stay and would recommend.
