有故事的房子和主人

非常喜欢这栋建于1940年的房子，里边的摆设都似乎是一个故事，在房子的后面更有一番天地有幸被主人邀请到后院参观。虽然东西老旧舒适度无可避免降低一些但是美好静谧的环境已经大量关于火山探险用具的准备可见主人之用心。

Never even stayed in the property; they never provided the key to be able to late checkin, this place and Expedia is a scam! Expedia isn’t for the customer, they are all for the hotels.

Liked that the owner was available on property, friendly and very helpful in learning about the area. Had fireplace going, in common area, in evening, available slippers & coats if needed.

This was a Bed and Breakfast. It is located on a working farm therefore be prepared the rooster crows at 5:30. Very clean and furnished well. Joan fixed a wonderful breakfast. It is located 4000 feet up so it was chilly at night. Two nice restaurants close by for lunch or dinner. Located close to Volcanco National Park

Great access to the national Park

This is a small bed-and-breakfast in a small town right outside the entrance to Volcano national Park. The proprietor is an entrepreneur with several ongoing businesses including a small working farm and farm stand, The house decor is extremely interesting with many photographs and artifacts related to Hawaiian history. There is a library with an extensive collection and a working fireplace. My biggest problem was onset of severe allergy symptoms when I got into bed, most likely due to sub optimal cleanliness of the bedding materials. Because of the town’s remote location, guests are strongly encouraged to minimize use of precious resources such as electricity. For access to the national park you can’t beat this location.

場所はわかりやすいところにあります。靴を脱いで入るので建物、部屋もきれいです。標高が少し高いのか朝方は少し寒く感じましたが、毛布もしっかりあり、寒くて起きることはなく、快適でした。飲食店、ガソリンスタンド、マーケットなども近く大変便利です。キラウエア・カルデラにもすぐ近くです。朝食もしっかり出ておいしかったです。建物の裏側には動物も飼っておられたりして見せていただきました。ジャムなども手作りで朝食に出ましたし、安く販売もされていたので買って帰りました。とてもいいお宿でした。

Close to volcano

Disappointed in room. Cluttered with toys. No space to unpack. Musty and damp. Owner doesn’t talk very much so didn’t know how to fix the dampness. Walls in bathroom are dirty. Spider webs on windows. Self checkin is unfriendly way to treat guests.

自然派、エコで朝食が美味しい　B＆B

2018年３月10日に宿泊しました。宿のお約束ごとは２つ、建物内禁煙、土足厳禁です。部屋は離れのAloha Hula Hut、多少古いと感じますが手入れされており清潔です。日本で言う1LDKかな。お風呂は改修されたばかりのようで綺麗でした。バスタブはありますが基本はシャワーのみのようです。キッチンは小さいので大した料理は出来ませんが電子レンジ、コーヒーメーカー(コーヒーバッグ付き)があります。ダイニングには浮世絵、御内裏様のような人形も飾ってありました。他のひとも書かれているように朝食(写真を参照)がおいしかった。それに宿のJoanさんが、なんと味噌スープや海苔を出してくれました。出汁が薄かったけど心遣いに感謝です。ご自身もエコで自然派と一目で判ります。英語が不自由な私たちに優しく接してくれました。もっと時間があればライブラリーでのんびりしたり、裏庭や鶏をはじめ、色々な動物も見たかった。車で２，３分のところにGS併設の地元スーパーマーケットもありましたよ。ボルケーノビレッジは標高1,200mの高原ですので春先の朝晩は涼しく、当日は雨模様でしたのでちょっと寒かった。ウルトラライトダウンジャケットが役立ちました。ダイニングには貸し出し用？のコート類も掛けてありました。レンタカーと慣れない土地なので気を付けることがあります。辺りはど田舎、日が暮れたら街路灯なしの真っ暗。早めの到着を心掛けてください。GoogleMapで下調べもお勧めします。

古いながらも良く管理されたＢ＆Ｂです

建物は古いながらも部屋は清潔でよく管理されています。エコが重視されていて、水や電気の使い方についての注意書きが目立ちました。冷蔵庫、コーヒーメーカー、電子レンジなどは、共用のホールに有り、いつでも使用できます。朝食は平均的ですが、ジャム類は手作りしていて、種類豊富でした。WiFiは遅く、使えるのはメールやWebの閲覧ぐらいです。全体的評価としては価格相応といったところでしょうか。

Eco-friendly, clean, wonderful animals

Wonderful 1890's home filled with photos & furniture from times past. Goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, variety of fruit & citrus trees & vegetable garden provide a delicious breakfast of mangos, eggs, yogurt, fresh baked breads & juice. The late night showering of another guest was the only drawback & not a reflection on the gracious owner.

Es hat viel geregnet. Das merkte man auch im Zimmer, alles war etwas feucht. Sehr gutes Frühstück mit viel Selbergemachtem.

Charming

Check in was simple and quick Loved making a fire after a chilly evening watching the volcano. TV channels were spotty but it worked well enough. Water was hot after you let it run for a minute. Breakfast was good. Homemade yogurt and granola was a nice touch. There were things I wish I had seen earlier (flashlights and binoculars in main room). Was slightly thrown off by all the odds n sods on sale in the common rooms - didnt realize that was something people did.

Charming Homestead

Joan, the proprietress, has been in the inn business for 30 years, and it is evident. Every detail is taken care of, from the homemade yogurt, to the stash of umbrellas, raincoats and flashlights for after dark excursions. Joan has a thorough knowledge of Volcano State Park for your trip there. The Inn, off the main road, is easy to locate and is a delightful retreat. Joan has farm animals and a lovely sprawling property. Her impressive collection of Hawaiian artwork, living room with wood- burning fireplace and home style breakfast made for a comfortable stay.

only stayed because of the volcano park

Booked this room because we hiked to the lava in the Volcano Park and needed a place close by because we knew we were going to be tired. Since we were camping the island we wanted to see if it was possible for them to hold our carry on bag with all our personal items so we didn't have to keep them in the car, tried to contact the owner 3 weeks ahead of time to see if it was possible and if not we could figure out where else we were going to keep them since check in wasn't until 3. Emails sent, voicemails left and never a response. When we showed up around 1 we were greeted by a nice lady, then the owner walks up, I explained I had tried to get a hold of her for a couple weeks (mainly wanted to let her know incase she wasn't getting them) and she was SOOOOOO RUDE!!! She clearly was getting every single email and voicemail but never wrote or contacted me back, seriously she was so rude and so unwelcoming we wish we could have just dealt with the first lady, if it wasn't for the nice first lady this place would be getting 0 stars. We stayed in the bamboo room, and the bed closest to the window was horrible. its not even a mattress and the bed slanted if you were laying a certain way.It would have probably been more comfortable sleeping in my car, and at 140 dollars a night I expected a nicer bed. For a B&B they didnt even have coffee creamer. I mean come on. We left as soon as we could. It served the purpose not driving back to KONA but drive a little further before staying here

impressive place!

this place is owned by a owner who collected a lot of arts and fine staffs. the breakfast is very good and healthy! But, as a very conservative place, shower experience is not very good. Hot water can only exist about 1~2 minutes after you turn on the tab. Most of the time we take shower with cold water. Besides that, the place is warm and comfortable.

とても良いけど注意点もあります。

二泊しましたが、最初の晩の宿泊客は僕らだけでした。夜6時頃到着したら辺りは真っ暗。宿泊棟に隣接している事務所棟(オーナーの自宅)に行くと、そこも無人でしたが、玄関ドアに僕たち宛ての封筒が貼り付けてありました。手紙と鍵(宿泊棟入口と自分の部屋の鍵)が入っていてそれで建物に入り照明器具を点灯して二階のバンブールームという部屋に入りました。注意しなくてはいけないのは建物入り口ドアはオートロック式だということ。初日、一旦部屋に入り、僕が車の荷物を部屋に運び込もうとしている時に妻が部屋に鍵を置いたまま玄関ドアを閉めて僕のところに来たので建物から閉め出されてしまいました。どうしていいか分からず、車内で他の宿泊施設を探さなくてはいけないのか迷い、妻と１時間近く相談しているところにオーナーが車で戻ってきたので救われました。オーナーは大変親切で部屋もホテルやモーテルより素敵なB&Bです。場所はちょっと分かりずらいので初めて行くときは明るいうちに到着したほうが良いと思います。朝食も美味しかったです。
