Vicksburg is all about the Civil War and you couldn’t ask for a better place than the Inn at Cedar Grove. Meals were excellent and the Staff were attentive. The Inn could use further renovations but not a huge issue given its age and use. Lots of history within the Inn itself.

Everything about this inn is FANTASTIC! From the Owner/Operator Kendra Reed, to the staff, to the antique furnished room, free tour of this historic house, the grounds, the provided breakfast, to the excellent restaurant on the premises. I want to come back with my girlfriend as I am traveling solo this trip! You can’t go wrong staying here.

Staff was excellent. Facilities where clean and well maintained. We stayed in the room next to the pool. Voices could be heard in the room next door because of connection through air vents. Was not a problem for us but might be for others.

Our room was so dirty. Baseboards were gross. Black mold in the bathroom. Floor turned out feet black. Couch had rips in the fabric. Cowling was crumbling around air vents. Super close to a busy road. Had to climb 3 flights of steep stairs to get to our room. The whole place is a safety violation. And so dirty!!! We were catfished for sure. Also, in a shady part of town. This place has fencing but not a locked gate system.

This 1840 mansion is beautiful. We stayed in the Grant Suite where 70% of the furnishings were original. It sent shivers up my spine to know we slept in General Ulysses Grant's bed. I wish we had been there for a meal. The dining room and menu were inviting. All was perfect except the entry. They need to make it a little wider. It's on a hill and hard to see the driveway over the crest, especially after dark.

Is there a SIXTH Star I can check somewhere? WHAT A JEWEL. IWhen you are in Vicksburg for the history and culture CEDAR GROVE is a "must" stay! If stairs are an ussue, just be sure to book your room on the first floor and enjoy.this historical site of General Ulysses S. Grant's Head Quarters. Cedar Grive is a nansion and a monument to its founders the Klein Family, and its current ownership. The polite and professional staff is also well informed about the history of the area, and there is even fine dining as well as a full bar. Everything is priced fairly for those fortunate enough to find Cedar Grove. WOW Jerry

They advertise breakfast. It is terrible and small. I was served 10 halved grapes with blueberries, one small sausage patty and half a biscuit. Room was ridiculously set up with lots of ambient light allowed in while trying to sleep. Almost no water pressure in shower. Would stay somewhere else.
