Die Lage ist sehr schön. Direkt am Lago. 10 min Fußweg bis zum Zentrum.

Verbania - günstiges Hotel mit wenig Flair

Hotel liegt nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß von der kleinen Fußgängerzone am See (Anlegestelle der Fähre) entfernt. Ruhige Lage, auch durch die Einbahnregelung am Hotel vorbei. Die Zimmer haben einen schönen Balkon mit Seeblick (teils durch hohe Blume verdeckt). Nachteil: Mehrmals die Woche werden mit Bussen große Gruppen (meist Rentner, deutsch, italienisch, französisch...) abends gebracht. Das Hotel scheint auf diese Aufenthalte spezialisiert zu sein, jedenfalls haben wir nur wenige andere Hotelgäste gestroffen. Die Gruppen reisen meist nach dem Frühstück wieder ab (das Frühstücksbuffet war immer ziemlich unruhig..). Abendessen wird nur für diese Gruppen angeboten. Für uns war das gerade noch so in Ordnung - wir waren sowieso viel unterwegs. Trotzdem haben wir die gebuchte Woche nicht wie vorher geplant verlängert.

Voyage au Lac Majeur

Rapport qualité prix excellent. Cet hotel conviendra parfaitement à ceux qui ne veulent pas dépenser une fortune tout en gardant un minimum de confort. Le petit déjeuner est certes très moyen, mais ce n'est pas ce que l'on demande à ce type d'hotel. Les chambres sont propres et faites tous les jours. Enfin, le gros point fort de cet hotel est sa localisation, à 3 minutes à pied du centre de Verbania (et de quelques restos sympas) ainsi que du débarcadaire pour visiter les iles du lac majeur en bateau. Demandez conseil à la gérante pour les restaurants dans le coin, elle saura bien vous guider. Nous l'avons suivi les yeux fermés, et nous n'avons pas eu à nous pleindre, bien au contraire...

Lac Majeur

Hotel charmant, avec un personnel parlant français. Il est très bien situé à 200m du centre touristique, avec vue sur le lac. De plus nous avons bénéficié d'une chambre avec vue sur le lac (pour une réservation sur l'arrière). Compte tenu de la météo début aout 2006, l'abscence de clim. n'était pas gênante.

Durchschnittliches HOtel

Mein Aufenthalt im Hotel Astor war nur sehr kurz, daher kann ic auch nur eine kurze Beschreibung abgeben. Das Hotel ist schön ruhig gelegen und nur zweidrei Minuten von einer Touristenmeile entfernt. Der Empfang an der Rezeption war sehr nett und es war sehr hilfreich nach z.B Restaurantempfehlungen zu fragen, um nicht in einer Touristenkaschemme enden zu müssen. Die Zimmer sind einfach aber mit allem Ausgestattet, vielleicht ein Radio fehlt. Nicht jede Ecke war penibel geputzt, jedoch schon in einem guten Zustand. Die Möbel zeigten schon einige Gebrauchsspuren und die Matratzen waren fast an der Grenze zu durchgelegen. Der Ausblick über den See ist super, wenn man darauf achtet nicht in der untersten Etage zu wohnen. Im Allgemeinen kein schlechtes Hotel für einen normalen Geldbeutel, jedoch sollte man kein Wunder oder das "Glück gehabt"- Gefühl erwarten. Gewarnt sei noch vor dem Frühstück. Wem das übliche italienische Frühstück mit einer Sorte glänzendem Käse, einer Sorte glänzender Wurst und komisch mundender Marmelade reicht.... Kaffee und Saft dafür aber inklusive

Good for budget

As a budget hotel with a good view of the lake could not be faulted. Staff were very helpful and pleasant at all times. Breakfast not so good; poor coffee which I thought was impossible in Italy. Decided to have breakfast in local bars after the first morning. Furniture quite dated but in good condition. Bathroom clean and well equipped though shower cublicle quite small and we inadvertantly turned shower off each day whilst trying to wash! Easy walk to nearby restaurants and really attractive pedestrianised area.

Hotel in guter Lage mit Seeblick an verkehrsberuhigter Straße

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral in Nähe zum See. Die Boromäischen Inseln sind in Sicht. Das Personal ist nett und sehr bemüht. Es ist zwar "nur" ein drei Sterne Hotel und sicherlich ohne jeglichen "Schnick-Schnack". Es ist sicherlich eine optimale Basis für einen netten Aufenthalt am Lago Maggiore!

borderline accommodation

this hotel is relatively well located, short walk to town. however it is a well worn hotel therefore has difficulty in attaining a high standard of cleanliness. the room provided was extremely small even by budget hotel standards. as it caters to bus tours mainly the service was down a little when no tour was in the hotel. however it provides a good quality breakfast and the staff tries. would stay again but only with an expedia special rate available. At full rack rate it would be very poor value and you would feel badly done by.
