We loved the view and restaurant at Cliffside. Our room was also clean and adequate for a building of its age. We have no complaints. Staying at Cliffside was one of the highlights of our trip doing the PCH.

What an amazing ocean front hotel for a minimal price. Enjoy the ocean sunset with a glass of wine. Keep your window open for an ocean breeze and the soft crashing waves. And enjoy a seafood/steak dinner at their little restaurant. Charming rooms and staff.

Cliff house is an aging beauty. Clean, but dated, rooms. Ocean front, nice pool, (could be heated a few more degrees), friendly staff. Restaurant was excellent. I need coffee before 7:30, just setting up coffee service in the lobby would be great. I would stay here again.

You can't beat an ocean front view. It was a nice room and bed was comfy. My only complaint, which isn't that big of an issue, but no AC in the room and the pool wasn't heated. I know it's right in front of the ocean, but the rooms get hot and a fan doesn't cut it for me. And the pool should be on all winter, right?! But I will definitely be going back, but only during the colder season.

Perfect location to just chill and enjoy the weekend without having to drive anywhere. The views are incredible, the rooms are quaint and clean and the restaurant that's right in the hotel serves delicious food. Staff was pleasant and always helpful. We'd go back there in a heartbeat!

3 star staff and building modernization, and people who stay there. i kinda felt unwelcome by like 7/10 people there. bed frames were falling apart before i got there. 2 star breakfast. the food was okay, but not the best. they had a fridge, so i was able to bring my own food which was nice. 4.5 star location. i loved many things about the location. one was being able to just walk down to the beach. the -0.5 is only because it’s so close to the highway, you can hear the cars when you leave your window open at night. (we had to bc it was so warm and we couldn’t keep the fan on without the light staying on) although three stars, i would DEFINITELY stay again, amazing time if you have someone with you. i’m not too picky about a lot of these things so i would definitely stay again. Thank you for having me there, it was a privilege!
The tide lowers during sunset, making an excited tide pool near the pier. Additionally, you can chill on the beach with your family, frolic in the waves in the right spot, and even surf on decent days (long board)!

Loved being so close to the ocean! Heard waves crashing all night, it was so soothing. Hotel room was clean but bathroom was dated.

The room was just okay. The room could use some updating and re-thinking about the use of space. The bed was very soft and not supportive. The location was very nice, but the pool while clean was not heated and, therefore, unusable. On Saturday morning, the office was supposed to have been open at 7 am. But it did not open until after 8 and no staff member responded to repeated rings of the service bell after 7 am. At night, the staff was putting tables back inside below our room and the sound of banging continued for over an hour after 10pm.

It was right on the beach. The sound of the ocean waves at night was amazing. The room was clean though a bit dated. Parking was not good due to many patrons at the restaurant. Though we didn’t use the pool (too cold) it is beautiful.

Staff was very courteous when we saw them, but they were not around much. Rooms were fine. We did enjoy sitting along the ocean for breakfast, and we were able to sit even closer one evening to listen to the waves. They had lots of chairs available Be aware there is no elevator.
