Comfy dog friendly B&B

Good choice for a dog friendly B&B. Comfortable, clean room, with parking and garden. Character property in a small village, great location for exploring the island. Friendly and helpful host, who does a fantastic breakfast to set you up for the day! Recommended.

Excellent for a short break to explore the Island.

Kingsmede is a charming yet fully equipped country house. It is kept clean and well maintained. Good breakfast options with special requests catered for. Good off road parking.

Property provided a home from home experience with superb breakfast the icing on the cake. Information was available in lounge but the host gave so much more giving us an extremely enjoyable couple of days. Will be returning in the future.

The property is a period house and the owner Chris has kept it to that style, very clean with a excellent breakfast cooked to perfection by Chris with a wide and varied choice of food. Whitwell is a designated dark sky area with some very pretty houses lots of thatched roofs,the local pub is only a few minutes walk and well worth a visit,the food is excellent. I would definitely recommend a stay at Kingsmede ,it fulfilled all my wife and I hopes

Perfect 5*

From the moment Chris opened the door we felt welcome. We stayed in the Butterfly Room which was nicely decorated and clean. Lovely big shower in the bathroom. Breakfast was gorgeous, cooked fresh, a wide range of cereals, fruit and yoghurt was also available. If you like a home from home vibe, then this is the place to stay. We will be returning to stay again. Thank you so much for a lovely comfy stay.

Perfect stay

The accommodation was perfect for us. Chris and Kelly made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. Very thoughtful hosts and the little things really do make a difference.The room was great and the building is very interesting due to its age. Breakfast was fab and there is a great pub for food (and beer) just down the road. Convenient on-site parking too. The garden looked lovely, although we did not have time to use it. We would definitely stay again and can recommend to others.

Country cottage is comfy stay

Marvellous old cottage with nice furnishings in a very pretty location. Great service and breakfast. And our dog loved it too as there was a big garden to romp in.

What a fantastic B&B. Chris was welcoming and helped us store our bikes away securely. Kingsmede is on the round Island cycle route which is handy. Room very well kept and Chris had set up twin beds as requested for my daughter and I. Breakfast was excellent and a great way to start the next day's cycling.

Very friendly host Chris, warm and welcoming. Gorgeous home with well appointed room overlooking gardens. Clean and reasonable sized bathroom. Good breakfast provided. Within walking distance of White Horse Inn that provided excellent meals.Comfortable and warm bed.

lovely homely accommodation in interesting period buildings. room confortable and clean, breakfast very good. 2 minute walk to a great local pub (White Horse) which serves well priced delicious food and drinks. Chris is a pleasure - highly recommended!

Great Little B&B

Ruhige, freundliche Frühstückspension

Geführt von einem sehr freundlichen und hilfreichen Ehepaar. Nur 3 Zimmer, also max. 6 Gäste. Hundefreundlich. Befindet sich in einem Dorf, das zwar keine Einkaufmöglichkeit, dafür aber ein einziges und hervorragendes Pub mit großer Speisekarte und exzellentem Essen hat (reservieren empfohlen). Wir waren an allen vier Abenden dort und haben jedes Mal sehr gut gespeist. Bushaltestellen ganz in der Nähe, aber ein Auto ist sicher von Vorteil. Schöne Wanderwege, auch direkt vom Quartier weg. Hervorzuheben wäre das Full English Breakfast. Man wartet zwar etwas länger als in ähnlichen Unterkünften, die Qualität ist aber spitze: nicht so fett wie sonst, lokal hergestellte Würstel, auch vegetarisch. Ein Gemeinschaftskühlschrank ist im Stock vorhanden, wo auch Chips, Schokoriegel und Hundeleckerlis zu erstehen sind. Schöne Dusche im Zimmer, nur das Waschbecken war in unserem Zimmer zu klein um wirklich brauchbar zu sein. Sonst: Top!

Very pleasant B and B. Chris proved to be a fine host- friendly and helpful but not intrusive. We didn’t partake of the full breakfast on offer but we can recommend the delicious eggs. The White Horse, about a quarter of a mile away and apparently the oldest pub on the island, provides a wide range of nourishing meals at reasonable prices. We loved the location of Kingsmeade. If, like us, you enjoy walking and exploring historical sights, you will find plenty to see and experience within a short drive.
