Hotel Alhaurín Golf Resort

"A perfectly pleasant stay at this hotel. Staff were excellent and helpful. Hotel rooms were a great size and functional, but the hotel now starting to show its age and is a bit dated. Bathrooms appeared clean, but smelt a bit musty. For the price I’d definitely stay here again as it represents great value, but don’t book here thinking you’re coming to a resort type hotel."

"It is a small, incredibly charming and cozy guesthouse with wonderful hosts who go out of their way to accommodate their guests' wishes. Whenever we wanted to go on an excursion, they were quick to provide recommendations and helpful advice on places to visit. Drinks and snacks were also available at the pool bar, where you can simply note down what you take and pay later. In the morning, a fantastic breakfast was served, featuring fresh bread, fruit, and many other delicious treats. You simply have to visit it to understand how enjoyable it is!"

"Súper hotel with outstanding staff. They really make a difference. We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Special shout out to Sara on Reception. She was excellent and very friendly as well as professional. The team in the restaurant were fantastic too. Clean, comfortable and spacious room. Efficient and prompt taxi to the airport."

"The rooms are basic but very reasonably priced and very clean, with aircon and storage for clothes, just what you need! Breakfast at 6euros/person was lovely and served to you in your room. We ate out on our room balcony with breathtaking panoramic views of the castle and surrounding mountains. Lots of hot water, clean fresh towels (daily if required) and shampoo supplied. TV in the room and a full size fridge so you can easily self-cater if you are travelling on a budget. Rooms are so reasonably priced! Our hosts could not do enough for us very helpful, knowledgeable and informative. Hostal Duran is right at the edge of the bustling village, filled with cafe's, bars restaurants (tapas was a favourite for us) and shops. There is also a very clean outdoor public swimming lane pool and a leisure pool, with the fabulous mountains for a back drop at 2euros/person(cash only for the pool). A couple of parks for younger kids, a winery for the adults, a selection of clothes and souvenir shops, a local pharmacy and a high street bank. Great air conditioned direct train link to Malaga Central and a regular local bus service (cash only for the bus). Local taxi drivers are a fountain of knowledge. Andalusia is the home of flamenco steeped in history with hidden gems such as Alora, a must see!"
