What a treasure! Located in a 16th century structure in Vaison Vieux, Hostellerie Beffroi is charming and unique. The staff is friendly, helpful, and eager to make your stay pleasant and memorable. The restaurant is superb. Highly recommended.

in a S France vacation where I was tempted to write bad reviews for most hotels this one was a refreshing surprise. People we nice, restaurant great. The only inconveniencies are that being in the medieval town, the access is difficult and the parking too. But the hotel has parking, which is a plus. And the other inconvenience , it has no air conditioning. It was OK for us because the night was cool and we slept with open windows.

Bucket list castle stay

If staying in a castle is on your bucket list, stay here! We rented two rooms for our family of 5 (three teens). It feels like somewhere Harry Potter would have stayed. Gorgeous old building with modern washrooms, literally inside a Medieval Village. Stairs are spiral stone, and may not feel safe if you have mobility issues. We parked in public parking at the bottom of the hill and walked the 10 minutes up because we were intimidated by trying to drive our rental car through the narrow roads, from reading other reviews. This was a unique and beautiful highlight on our family’s trip to France!

Wonderful property high up in the medieval town in a 500 year-old building. It’s a challenge to drive up there, but the experience was unique, especially when combined with the beautiful pool, excellent food, and welcoming staff, also an excellent value.

This place is historic and beautiful. It is old. If you like shiny new rooms, it’s not for you. It’s gorgeous and old and charming. The pool that looks out over the town is one of the prettiest things I’ve ever seen. It’s on the most amazing steep, windy medieval street I can imagine. I love it.

The check in process was slow, and Yann, the older gentlemen, was extremely rude, disinterested, and unprofessional. FIRST, He chided us because we came in on the wrong road and asked for help. SECOND, the check in process was ridiculously slow. Yann started checking us in, took down a bunch of information, which took some time, and then walked away. Another woman came up, and did the exact same thing all over again, taking down the same information that Yann had already taken. it didn't appear that he gave her any help, and she seemed very confused. She was nice enough, but the check in process took way too long. THIRD, The shower in the tub is literally about five inches above my knee (I'm 5'4"), so you have to really climb up into it. FOURTH, there was one container for some sort of hair product, I think it was shampoo, but it was empty, so my husband had to use soap. FIFTH, the blowdryer is the type that is attached to the wall from like 1990. It has no speeds, and you cannot leave the room. There is no window in the bathroom, nor a vent. SIXTH, the breakfast was mediocre, and I had read bad reviews about the restaurant, so there is no way I would try it for dinner. Having said all of that, there is a woman that works at the front dest that was there on Monday morning that was both helpful and nice. In addition, Hugo, who also works at the front desk, was very helpful and nice. No recommendation from me. Go to La Fete down the street.

Best accommodations during our southern France car trip! Loved this place and the staff. We always look for authentic stays as we travel during our work in corporate chain hotels. This hotel is so old and lovely. The rooms are small, but well tended to. The linens are adequate (especially the pillows and bed linens). The town is fun to explore for about two days. Driving to the hotel was dicey (narrow-narrow streets and hills) and a small parking area, but it added to the fun of the trip. Do stay here! You’ll love it.

Magnifique hotel

L'hôtel est fort bien situé dans un quartier ancien de la ville. Le cadre est magnifique ainsi que la vue depuis la salle du petit déjeuner. Le confort et la propreté de l'Hôtel sont très correct. Je suis très satisfait de l'hôtel. Le seul problème, ce qui fait le charme de l'hôtel est à la fois son défaut, est qu'il est situé dans un endroit très fréquenté par les touristes, en haut d'une rue qui serpente de pavés, et on doit traverser deux tunnels assez étroits. Il faut donc se frayer un chemin parmi les touristes, ce qui est loin d'être agréable, si on a une voiture assez large, manœuvrer avec précision car ça passe tout juste. Tout ça pour arriver dans un parking sous dimensionné, les voitures étant garées en double file, obligeant à laisser les clefs à l'accueil. On a renoncé à utiliser la voiture pour visiter les environs car c'est vraiment trop contraignant. Cela n'enlève rien à la qualité de l'hôtel qui est vraiment très bien avec piscine privée.
