cheap & basic but friendly

Good central location with nice views. Basic rooms with poor quality mattresses, pillows and sheets. Cheap and cheerful! Staff are friendly and helpful.

Do not stay here. The building is falling apart. Supplies for construction are all over the place though there wasn't much happening on the weekedays I was there. 2 day stay with no housekeeping, water damage, mold, and dust all over my room, lights from the stairs shining on my bed the entire night so I could barely sleep, and a staff that I repeatedly found myself waiting on or hunting down for subpar service. I remember submitting a review immediately after my stay in October but somehow it disappeared. Don't be fooled.

This is a budget hotel on a very small island, so adjust your expectations accordingly. The staff at the Clifton are extremely friendly and accommodating. They had my room ready for an 8am arrival. Breakfast was included and was well cooked and presented. I am a return guest because I found the hotel to be a good base for exploring the island. In such a place, one spends very little time in the room.

Clifton Hotel

The hotel is in a fantastic location, right in the middle of Clifton with everything you need only a couple of minutes walk away. Abigail was fantastic, providing so much information on the area, and also negotiating a private water taxi for us to go to the Tobago Cays. The room is very basic but tidy. It included a mini fridge which was very useful to keep drinks cool during our stay. Our room didn't have A/C and was unfortunately incredibly hot even with a fan. So my only advice would be to book a room with A/C if available. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay in this basic hotel.
