Hidden Gem

Lovely room, comfortable bed with super soft linen. We slipped into a deep sleep on a marshmallow cloud after a long drive. Great hospitality from our host.

Beautiful and Tastefully furnished New rooms

The new Annexe is beautifully updates in an old Karoo house and yard. It's quieter than the rooms in centre of Colesberg, and you can stroll inside the large yard area with cool outdoor spaces in the shade. Rooms were very comfortable, good linen, mattress and cushions with modern bathrooms and fittings nicely blended with old pieces. Only one suggestion, add rails for the elderly in the glassed in showers that are quite slippery?

Comfortable and good rest

Great clean rooms with beautiful stylish bathroom and sleeping area with incredible comfortable bed. Only thing was that the walls could be better soundproofed due to noise from neighbors easily heard all round.

Very nice extension to the hotel. However, two issues need to be addressed: house rules about noise after 10pm must be communicated and the rooms need fumigation.

A wonderful overnight spot in Colesberg

We stayed in the "other" guest house called La Provence that is owned by the same Lighthouse but just up the road next to the school. I am sure that it is a quieter area but is it a little walk from the restaurants (of which there are many to choose from). Wonderful safe parking on the property so you can leave your fully loaded car without having to unpack it all for the night. The rooms were very nice, good a/c; free wifi and there was a nice shady area under a tree if you wanted to sit outside. The only thing I wish they had on site was a swimming pool.

Neat Place in Centre of the town

Nice place, right in the centre of time. Manager friendly & efficient. Rooms roomy & well equipped. Inflexible on check in time despite no other guests in the place. Strictly 2 p.m. onwards. Good recommendations for restaurants & bars. Secure parking on site. Do not understand a few negative write ups

The hotel was nice and the owners were very nice. The room was comfortable and clean. We paid ZAR 800 to Hotels.com and assumed that included breakfast. We were quite unimpressed when we found out that Hotels.com charged us ZAR 800 just for the room while the hotel charges ZAR 680 (VAT included) for the room +ZAR85 per person for breakfast.

Was a great stay, would recommend they add more toiletpaper as 1/2 roll is not enough for 5 people, but sure it was not done on purpose as the hosts are friendly and gave us a warm welcome
