「The owner's attitude was nice, location is quite close to the Udawalawe National Park. Breakfast however was only an omelet, 2 pieces of toast and a small cup of juice for each person which wasn't enough for us. The room was full of dust, and the air coming out of the AC feels like mold. If you want to join the safari, the owner has a jeep and a driver to take us into the safari in the morning which needs an additional cost, and we feel it's a little too high price.」

「Great place to stay. Extremely helpful staff. Facilities were surprisingly good. Handy location to elephant transit and national park. Nice pool. Highly recommend.」

「Dirty but the services of owner is good. Why the internet booking quotation is in USD but they only take rs!」

「Very nice place. The people were very accommodating and helpful. Would recommend the private safari the drivers are really good.」

「The location of the hotel couldn’t have been better! The room looked onto the pool and was beautiful. The rain couldn’t be helped but it was quite loud against the roof of the room. The Sri Lankan breakfast after my safari was lovely and I also had dinner the night before, however I would say there wasn’t very clear communication of timings or where to go once I checked in but for dinner the guy from the hotel on WhatsApp answered all of my questions.」

「A peaceful nature retreat with incredible fresh food. Our stay at Kalu’s Hideaway was a wonderful experience from start to finish. We loved the wholesome farm-to-table dining—tasting fresh red dragon fruit straight from the garden, sweet pineapples, mangos, and delicious Sri Lankan vegetables. The property itself is surrounded by nature. The butterfly garden was an unexpected treat, and waking up to the tranquil morning sounds of birds overlooking the Udawalawe reserve canopy was magical.
