  • Jagdish Temple is one of the famous temples of Udaipur. Located in the City Palace complex of Udaipur, this temple is made in the Indo-Aryan style of architecture. In 1651, Jagdish temple was built by Maharana Jagat Singh, who ruled Udaipur during 1628-53. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Laxmi Narayan), the preserver of the Universe. It is celebrated for being the largest temple in the city of Udaipur. The gateway of this temple can be sited at a distance of 150 meters from the Bara Pol of the City Palace. This three-storied temple is a wonder of architecture that comprises beautifully carved pillars, decorated ceilings, painted walls and lush halls. In those times, 1.5 million rupees were spent to raise this structure. The spire of the main temple is around 79 feet high that undoubtedly dominates the skyline of Udaipur. This shikhar (spire) is festooned with sculptures of dancers, elephants, horsemen and musicians making it truly a sight to behold. As and when you approach the temple, you will be welcomed by two huge stone elephants at the entrance. On the very front of the temple, you would find a stone slab that is imprinted with the inscriptions with reference to Maharaja Jagat Singh. To reach the main shrine, you have to take a marble flight of 32 steps. Here, you will find a brass image of Garuda, a figure of half-man and half-eagle. This huge idol stands as if; it is guarding the doorway of Lord Vishnu.

Very good service during breakfast and dinner. Amaaaazing views from roof top terrace. Great location for exploring Udaipur, walkable local attractions like City palace and Jagdish Mandir. Better than it looks. Be mindful that no cars will stop at hotel doorstep. Concierge are helpful when booking taxis. Pavan was super helpful.

Great View and courteous staff.

Great hotel on lake Pichola. They were very nice to upgrade us to a bigger room with a lake view. The view from the rooftop is to die for. We had complimentary high tea service and watching the sun set while drinking chai was a fantastic experience. Special shoutout to Mr.Pawan at the front desk who made sure we were comfortable all the time , always asking if we needed something. Thanks Pawan , for making our trip more memorable !

Wonderful little hotel in the heart of town

This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in during this trip. The location is just perfect - views over the lake plus brilliant views from the roof terrace. It is very close to the City Palace and the old town - which was lovely to walk round. We were upgraded which was kind so had even lovelier rooms than we had booked. Spacious rooms with lovely bathrooms and very tasteful fittings. Comfortable beds. Restaurant was excellent - very tasty food and a good range of choices. Full marks to the cook. Nitesh was an absolute star - sorted out a guide for a city tour and booked us into the folk show round the corner - which was an absolute delight. He also took me to the festival one night which was super kind. Overall, couldn't fault this hotel. Lovely helpful staff, comfortable rooms and excellent food. I would recommend and would definitely stay there again.

Amazing Udaipur

Amazing location and amazing hospitality. Please be aware its in the old city so a car can't come up to hotel and you have to use an auto and this is informed by the hotel. No lift and no locker. These are minor issues compared to the view, the terrace restaurant, the service and to the fact that the city palace, market, Jagdish temple are just minutes away.

- Property not clear in written policies that children aged 6 years and above treated as adults - Parents need to buy additional room if travelling child - Paying extra for a child to accomodate the room not part of the policy - Though after a 30min debate they finally allowed us - They take pride in denying checkins if guests dont follow their some unwritten policy - Bathrooms have temp see through currains
