End of season disaster
Arrived Saturday night at Hotel Riva in Bardonecchia for sking on Sunday with my 2 children. Room hadn't been used for some time so dirty brown water came out of shower. Room was supposed to be tripple room to share with my children but side of shower has glass window into room so no privacy. Air conditioning in room very poor so I couldn't breath so disturned my children most of the nigth with breathing problems. Discovered Sunday afternoon that the resort was closed on Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th! We had hoped to go the Hotel Riva Spa and pool after skiing on Sunday 7th April but it was closed. I asked Hotel Riva to terminate agreement as we wanted to move to Sauze to Hotel Torre as Sauze fully open during the week until 14th. My laptop couldn't connect to the Hotel Riva WiFi so I had to ring hotels.com on international call to try and sort. Hotel Riva was empty so didn't want to cancel the booking. The young chap on reception suddently couldn't speak English and refused to speak to hotels.com on the phone. Hotels.com said they couldn't change the booking without agreement from the hotel. Hotel Riva said they couldn't cancel the booking without permission from www.hotels.com. It took 45 mintes discussion with Hotel Riva and Hotels.com to get booking changed. We moved to Sauze eventually and had 2 great nights at Hotel La Torra and used their Spa and pool, WiFi worked without a problem and the shower water was clean and the shower private.
