A great experience overall. Location is convenient to town yet far enough away to have a fantastic view of the countryside. The house is a classic southwest dwelling, well-appointed with a comfortable bed. Claudia is a charming hostess and conversationalist with a French Toast recipe that is worth the stay.
It was a pleasant and welcoming place to stay. The woman who runs it is welcoming and friendly. Good for people who need a cozy place to stay in the Tucson area.
Sharon, the host, makes you feel like you are family. We enjoyed each of her homemade breakfasts on the three days that we were there. What was unique was the information she gave us about the area and her suggestions on what to do and where to eat. We would not have been able to do as much as we did without her suggestions.
Sharon was a welcoming and attentive host who went above and beyond in taking care of us during our stay. She cooked fresh food each mornng which was delicious.
We didn’t realize that Sharon owns a cat and the dander did trigger my asthma, so it you have similar breathing issues you may not want to choose this location. If not it’s a great little place about 20 mins from Saguaro National Park.
Bed and Bagels
Bed and Bagels in Tucson really suited my family. We love the natural beauty of the desert and mountains that surround Tucson yet we like to stay near the city for all of its conveniences. Bed and Bagels offered both. It also welcomes well-behaved dogs which is a must for us since our family includes two large dogs.
It is just outside Tucson. The setting is spectacular. The Catalina Mountains are just to the north and the Rincon Mountains just to the east. Everytime I walked out the door I was awed again by the beauty. We liked being able to
take long country walks from the house. Yet it was only a short drive to Tucson and shopping.
We felt at home. Our bedroom was cozy. The bath was just across the hall. There was a family room where we hung out a lot. We enjoyed its rustic dining area, tv, wi-fi, and two wonderful resident dogs. (We fell in love with both of them and wanted to bring them home with us.)
There was also a more formal dog-free living and dining room available to guests. This would work well for guests without dogs. Walls of books and artwork made these rooms interesting.
The patio and pool area were pleasant. Having free laundry facilities on site was a real plus. There was a separate fenced area where we could leave
our dogs when we went out to sight-see. (We found out that in Arizona, dogs cannot ever be left alone in cars.)
We hear the breakfasts are great, but we chose the less expensive option of preparing our own meals because we stayed several weeks. We had free use of the kitchen and a small refrigerator.
Bed and Bagels really worked well for all of us. It can really be difficult to
find B & Bs that welcome dogs.
great place if you're traveling with a pet, or not! breakfasts have been wonderful, and sharon is a lovely host.
if you want everything new and absolutely dust free this might not be the right place. other than that, it's easy to feel welcome and make yourself at home.
Sharon was a delightful host who made sure we had everything we needed at her pet-friendly home. Our dog had lots of room to play. The breakfasts Sharon cooked were delicious. We had great conversations. I would not hesistate to stay here again if we are in Tucson.
