We liked the location, with every bedroom
overlooking the bay at St Mawes . The design of rooms had been well thought out and had the “Olga Polizzi “?touch. The service was excellent as was the cuisine and the staff were welcoming and took an interest in their clientele
We loved the Hotel Tresanton. It was expensive but well worth it. We had room 26 which is very high so you should check the room number if you have any mobility issues. I would highly recommend this hotel. It was the highlight of our 24 day stay. Our server, Izzy in the bar was amazing.
What an amazing place to stay….location was amazing and nothing was too much trouble. We were celebrating my wife’s 60th and they made some lovely little touches to make it extra special. We will definitely be back.
Loved the property - a couple of extra overs - the room was very warm when we arrived - I am sure we could have borrowed a fan but installing air con may be an option. Also for a hotel of this standing I would have expected a far better hair dryer than the one available. Lastly not that its was in any way the fault of the hotel but the weather on one day was terrible - the ferries were cancelled - I wonder therefore if it would have been a good PR exercise to perhaps put a cakes in the lounge for guests to have with coffee?
Excellent staff, nothing too much trouble. Quality room, beautiful restaurant, stunning views of bay. Upper House difficult to access if disabled due to steps
This is an excellent hotel in beautiful St Mawes. The location 5 minutes to the harbour, small shops, bars and restaurants is excellent and with stunning views from a lot of the rooms. We had a room/suite in a converted house adjacent to the main hotel and it had a small children's den/bedroom for our 4 year old. Only real criticism is that our Daughter who is very well behaved & well travelled was not allowed in the restaurant in the evening so we had to order room service but all the food was excellent. Parking is above the resort but after dropping our bags off our car was parked and returned when leaving. Lovely afternoon Tea in the lounge and a short walk to the best Fish & Chips ever at The Watch House Restaurant side hatch.
nice place but not at all worth the money. nothing stood out as special other than porter to bring up your bags and park your car. location is fine if you intend on staying in St. Mawes but not accessible as far as other sights go.
Lovely hotel right on the seaside. We were dismayed and surprised that the hotel did not honor its “no children in the dining room after 7 pm policy” and we had to suffer through an otherwise pleasant meal with some ill behaved children.
Shameful. Service on the terrace was very slow.
Uninpressed by our first room we were immediately move to an alternative brighter room which was not a problem to the staff and completed with no hassle
Lovely hotel in a perfect location. Overall the experience was very good but there are some elements that could be improved/refreshed such as new TVs, in room refreshments (no tea and coffee making facilities). Staff were quite slow in the restaurant at breakfast (with coffees, etc.)
I had high hopes and high expectations of this hotel ; it was an important trip for me and I was anxious everything went well but was confident that it would . I wasn’t disappointed; it was exactly what I hoped for . Not in the least pretentious or stuffy but just deeply competent and assured . The service is there but it’s unobtrusive and not obsequious . I asked for a martini and unusually in a small hotel but not unexpectedly in this hotel actually got a proper cocktail . We had two very enjoyable dinners , a room with a wonderful view which had everything I could conceivably expect anyone would want from books through a local map and excellent linens . I hesitated when thinking about whether I wanted to make a review simply because the hotel is already deservably popular and I want to be able to get in when I go back . A triumph; an establishment who actually do hospitality as aposed to pretentious nonsense. The photographs show the view from my room and the hotel on the right hand side of the road ( with flagpoles ) with its new garden terrace by the water
